I would think the more churches the better anywhere. There are a lot of lost souls in this world. Just keep believing what you believe and get on with our purpose, winning souls for the kingdom.

I'm sorry but I have very little respect for someone who starts a church where the majority of the people are taken from other churches. It creates an unethical atmosphere where there can be no true fellowship and trust. That sort of behavior is reprehensible to me on the local as well as the national level.
I wish more people would be concerned about building the Kingdom. There are things that you can do to build your church that are actually detrimental to the Kingdom and in fact do not even add one soul. Those things will always end badly and I do not believe that God will bless that.

My advice: Don't give him any "press" either from the pulpit or in conversation. View him as a threat and he will become one. Make him a non-issue and people won't want to see what is going on.
We need to learn to ACT and not React.
good advice mow, for sure, just ignore them, dont help them, dt

I agree. Transplant saints is not church growth!

Excellent post, tstew, but there is another danger with some transplanted saints. Saints leave one church because they are disgruntled with SOMETHING, soemtimes justified, but sometimes not.b And if they're disgruntled where they WERE in more cases than not, they'll eventually become disgruntled where they ARE.
I have been the recipient of transplanted saints who were very talented, but eventually caused me a ton of trouble.
But, I have seldom had any trouble from folks that I won to the Lord.
It's been my experience that pastors who try and build churches on proselytes buy their own trouble eventually.

I have seen many examples of this as well. I like to use the goat/ sheep analogy when talking about authority. The problem for a lot of people who try to short-cut their way into pastoring a church is that they end up with a flock of goats. I pity the fool who builds their church in this way. Once the precedent is established that they'll just go elsewhere if they are not catered to, you pretty much are in the fulltime catering business.
I'm not saying that there are not legitimate cases of people needing to transfer. However, I have developed even more respect for my pastor as I have watched him send talented people who wanted to come to our church back to their pastors, and how before any actual transfer took place with others, it was only after determining with the other pastor that this would be the best course of action. I have seen too many people whose church development model pretty much depended on the pulling of other saints. I have seen churches open their doors without ever knocking doors in the neighborhood or making any contact with people in the general community. I have to ask myself "where did they expect the people to come from then?". It is all very sad to me.
I just get excited about the unchurched who come in and get saved and how you can watch them evolve. I don't think people realize how much they short-change themselves with these shortcuts.

The first thing that came to my mind is, I wonder if this preacher is a known and accpeted quantiy or if the WWPF leaders even know much about the guy?
Lord knows I am among the first to sharp stick the WWPF, but the guys leading this thing dont seem to be the type to do such a thing.
