It was amazing that a two year old could do exactly like his dad..............however, it's troubling that he could do exactly like his dad and probably will when he gets older. Will it be real or just mimicking?
I find it hysterically cute on one level and on another, deeply troubling. It wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't obviously during a service. That is just kind of odd to me.
That is exactly right, I think it is setting the kid up for trouble... makes me think of "Marjoe"

It first I thought that might be Eld. Epley up there on the platform running around and disappearing behind the pulpit. Then it dawned on me that it couldn't be. He didn't have on a tie and he had short sleeves and short pants.

Rico, honestly I think the church audience is taking it too seriously. If it were just intended to be a cute skit then so be it, just laugh and applaud like you would with any other cute or humorous skit. It is the fact that they are responding to it like it really is preaching that is a little off setting to me. I guess it goes to show you that it really doesn't matter what is said, just how it is delivered.

Exactly! That is the troubling part.
Cute as a button and unbelievable that he's that "right on" being so young, however........I don't believe it was a word from God.

Stew, I heard them amening him when you could make out that he was saying Jesus. Is there something wrong with that? Also, how many times have you seen children playing church and heard them amening "the preacher"? I've seen preachers hand the mic to young children for them to say "one god" as best as they could, and the crowd amened. I've seen young children lead the way during a worship service. Children are as valuable a part of service as the adults are. I used to get my young ones by the hand and dance with them in church, as soon as they could walk.

Rico, I'm not trying to knock him or the church. The kid was unbelieveably cute and his imitations were spot on. I'm just saying that what may be causing some of the uneasiness is that it did appear that it was being recieved as actual preaching. The responses seemed to be more coinciding with how red in the face he got, not with the few points where you could actually understand him. Once again though I am not trying to knock him...I am just saying that that is the only thing that seemed a little odd. I have heard plenty of kids play preach, I used to do it myself...some might argue I still do
