I have a Roland Fantom that I really like. We also have a Motif. The Motif has better piano sounds (probably due to the fact that Yamaha can really sample their own pianos), but the Fantom has better recording capabilities, which is what put it over the top for me. You can actually do a complete recording project including recording and mastering vocals on a Fantom.

If it is just for gigs, save the $$$ and go with the MO8, but if your recording, go Motif. Roland has fixed their action problem and you can pick up some used Fantoms at decent prices.

Triton is on the way out I hear??? I saw a great deal on them when I was in NYC last at Sam Ash Music....

Go with Motif if you are doing recordings and sequencing.
What are you needing this for ?

I LOVE my roland because I can stack sounds FAST
and hassle free. Motif is Complicated to do that.

Go to roland.com and check out the new 700gx
If you need a digital piano for church this is it

you can also plug in your IPOD in the back and listen to
songs you are learning
