Re: Jonathon Moore, Mickey Mangun & Russ Taff
Last night they all sung with music and without accompaniment, some of the great foundational Pentecostal songs. I was blessed and encouraged by it. I felt like dancing a shock-a-moo and would have if eveyone would have stopped being entertained and worshipped.
Jonathon Moore is starting a Home Missions work outside San Antonio in Oct '08 I believe. I found all three to be anointed and in tune with God's spirit last night. If I didn't have responsibilites at my own assembly today I would go and worship at Christian World, pastored by George Hancock.
Blessings, Rhoni

Not that I know of. He has been to the church for some special services, etc.
I think at last year or the year before Music Conference they brought him up on stage for an unscheduled testimony and he sang a couple of songs.
I also saw him at Dottie Rambo's funeral.
I am almost positive he is NOT a Christ Church member though. I have seen him about three times in nine years.
I have never been a fan either. I have a niece who thinks he is the best singer in the world but I disliked his singing from the beggining. The Imperials were my favorite Gospel group growing up and when I finally got to go see them in person around the late 70's it was right after he had joined the group and I hated his "sound". He sounded like he was singing with cotton balls in his mouth.
Later in the late 80's or early 90's when his career was in decline he came to my church in Austin and was such a prima dona I heard the pastor said he would never have him back. However to his credit I heard that later he confessed he had been a jerk around that time in his life and asked for forgiveness.
Even now he irritates me. When he "testified" at our music conference it was all whining about how he had an abused upbringing from his Pentecostal dad, yada, yada, yada. Very much the victim mentality.
Just my opinion and luckily for him many people disagree and seem to enjoy his singing and whining.....er... testifying.
BTW - Who is pastoring John Kershaw's church now? Is JK Pastor Emeritus or gone?

Jonathon Moore is an incredible singer! Is his SA work a daughter work of Rex Johnson's church or something he is doing on his own?
BTW - I also loved MM's music back in the 70's. I remember buying her album with Long and Winding Road on it.
