I really couldn't say it any better than you, So I will offer my "Ditto to you, Sherri!" I feel exactly the same.

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
I am thankful for the Apostolic message of Acts 2:38 that is spread by
the UPC throughout the world. It changed this Baptist boy's life 25 years ago.
It's an imperfect organization, but I am appreciative for the effect it had
on my life.

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
I am sure there are many good organizations in the body of Christ, yet if one wants to be a part of a group that is Pentecostal, Oneness, and conservative there really are not many choices (at least where I am at).
So yes, thank God for the UPC preaching Jesus to me!

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
I've been UPC for 40+ years and thank God for the fellowship and the truth that is preached.
I'm thankful that they even let a poor Missouri boy like me preach.

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
I am thankful to the UPC for propagating the message of Jesus Christ around the world. It brought the truth to my family and then nurtured us into mature Christians. Along the way, I have made many good friends, heard many great sermons and seen many souls received the Spirit of God. I am thankful for the UPC.

I agree with everything you said brother!
I would not be filled with the glorious gift of the Holyghost were it not for a UPC church......a UPC church that both my husband's grandmother and my grandmother were charter members. Ladies who were brought out of erroneous doctrines by hearing the preaching of old time men of God. Men of God who were mocked, ridiculed, tormented, but still held on and established many many churches throughout the land....
No organization is without faults........but thank God the UPC does teach Truth of Salvation and that the Lord our God is One Lord.

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
On October 27, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I was baptized in Jesus Name in a UPC church called Elim Tabernacle.
On May 20, 1956 in Racine, WI in a UPC church called Bethel Tabernacle I received the Holy Ghost baptism
I attended the Apostolic Bible Institute (a UPC Bible college) in St. Paul, MN for the 1956/1957 year only
Over the years I have been a member of UPC churches in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio. I've heard some good teaching and preaching and was pastored by good men.
I've preached in UPC churches in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. However I have never been licensed/ordained by the UPC.
Over the years I have been licensed and/or ordained by
The Church of Jesus Christ
The Church of Jesus Christ Pentecostal Faith
Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ
The Churches of Jesus Christ International

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
Unforunatley, It is my strong opinion that most of the
people on AFF who left the UPC absolutley deteste it.
Now, they will say they do not, but I believe they do.
WHY? because there is a lot of bitter feelings towards
the UPC that is expressed through their writings and
continual mocking and ridicule on the forum.
I, in turn, am not making a judgment or putting the
XUPC folk down. This is just my belief and observation.
It is something that is between you and God and not for
me to try to solve ( the reasons and so forth).
The UPC has not been perfect. I've heard some absolute
horror stories as it relates to the way some have been
treated and the politics, etc. But the bitterness seems
to have a very adverse effect on their off spring even more
so then themselves which is the saddest part IMO.
Their are a lot of people on both ends who want to see the
UPC destroyed. It's really sad to me but true. The Ultra cons
hate the upc as do the libs. There is more division in Pentecost
then I have ever seen in my lifetime. I know I am right about
it.

Re: UPC Appreciation Thread
I believe there are some good well-intentioned people in the UPC and I like their peanut brittle... (even though I haven't had any in years).

I'm also thankful for the role, the United Pentecostal Church has played in my life.
