I know that the post about Dr. Jeffers are very old, however I do hope that everyone knows now that the article posted was not about him. He's has been preaching his entire life since he was a child. His fathers name was Gerald he has always used Jerry also if you google the name a few Geralds come up for Marthas Vinyard. I came across this forum because I have been searching for him so I can hear him preach, if anyone has any information about his schedule please let me know.

Has anyone found a bio on him yet?
He's the preeminent evangelists in the UPCI and Assemblies these days. "Doctor" Gerald Jeffers. It's Barry White meets Jesus. His style is confident, sure and almost "lectury" at times, but also soothing. His style is eccentric (long zuit suits) and his play on words creative.
But who is Gerald Jeffers?

I'm only surmising here and I could be wrong or it could be that I've misunderstood something along the way... however, the article about the "junkyard" says that the cars have been "accumulating since 1946." From the videos of his preaching, our "Dr. Gerald Jeffers" doesn't look like he was even born yet in 1946.
The coincidence in names and locales may be attributable to a family relationship between the two "Jeffers" or it may be entirely coincidental.
Also, the "Jeffers" who operates the "Chappy Auto Service" isn't involved in any criminal situation nor is he even described as being a "bad citizen." The article states that there have been no complaints about the property and that no relevant health or pollution concerns have been uncovered. And remember, these folks all live on an island where the disposal of junk automobiles would be a considerable task. You have to ferry even the "good" autos back and forth.
What seems to have prompted the article was the clean up activity that was going on. In this light we may think of this "Jeffers" more favorably, I'd think, rather than just going with the headline and thinking "eye sore" and such.
I say this only because this "Jeffers" has come up on our happy little forum. Fair is fair. Even if he's completely unrelated to our usual topics of concern, I think we can be gracious to the proprietor of "Chappy's Auto Service."
... as always, just IMHO.
