We are having a father's day dinner at the church after Sundy School. I am doing the cooking. I am cooking (as of this moment all of the meat is in the oven and roaster):
Pork Roast (with onions and mushrooms)
Ham (with brown sugar and ketchup glaze-hubby's favorite)
Mashed potatoes (with gravy from the roast)
Corn
Green beans (with onions and bacon)
fruit (such as strawberries, kiwi, watermellon, cantaloupe, bananas, pineapples) in watermellon boats that I cut out last night
desserts-(I am making a Hawaiian cake-yellow cake mix with coconut in it and then topped with evaporated milk, coconut flavoring, cool whip and then more coconut on top)
NON-ALCOHOLIC Pina Colodas
strawberry smoothies
I am already tired, but we are trying to show our fathers that we do love and appreciate them.
Hubby is getting money for father's day. (He is EXTREMELY hard to buy for and knows what he wants, so he can go get it, and I don't have to shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
this is the day we honor our fathers yesterday I took my father(94) to visit his fathers grave. My dad was born in 1914 and is still able to do most things that he wants and we (my brother and myself) are just plumb proud to have him still with us. to all you fathers out there HAPPY FATHERS DAY
My husband became a father for the first time on June 19, 1960. Today, the LORD
willing, we will join our three sons, and sons in law and their families for a special
Father's Day program at the church my own father, fathered 50 yrs. ago this year.
Afterwards we have reservations at a nice resturant in a neighboring city, to enjoy a
nice meal and fellowship with our family.
Today I want to give honor to my late father, Rev. Robert L Blakey, who was a
most wonderful father. He was not only interested in providing for his eleven children
physically, but was so concerned about his family's spiritual welfare also.
Yes, my husband became a father on Father Day, 1960 and several times since.
It looks like our family will produce many more fathers if the pattern continues.
Our three sons and sons in law are all fathers and perhaps have done their part,
but we have those 15 grandsons (youngest 3 mos., eldest will be 25, Aug.1)
coming on up behind.
SO today, I just want to say, "HAPPY FATHER's DAY" to all the wonderful fathers in
our family, and in your families, Lord bless everyone of you, in Jesus Name!
Had a WONDERFUL time with our family and SO thankful to have been together
again. God is SO Great and Greatly to be praised. The love of Christ shed abroad
in our hearts and lives makes it possible! To GOD be the glory, the honor and ALL
the praise!
We had one service yesterday and then had lunch at my parents with my siblings, grandparents and uncle. My grandfathers health is fading very quickly so this could very well be his last Fathers Day, so it was very special. After all these years, he still has a hard time with us telling him how amazing he is, he just cries and says he is so blessed.
We had barbecue ribs, meatloaf (for my dad), mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, rolls, fresh melon, bread pudding, cheesecake, and so many appetizers that nobody was hungry when lunch was ready!!

My sweet grandpa:
Both of my Grandpas are gone, and I hate it! One died when I was 17 and the other when I was in my mid 20s. One grandma died when I was 3 and the other one is still alive. I hate to watch my loved ones growing old. I wish God would give us more time on this Earth.

This must be your father's dad as I see a resemblence. Very close
resemblence!
That is SO precious and such a blessing to have your grandfather still
with you. My grandfathers have been gone for many years.
Thank you for sharing yours with us here on the forum.

It is my father dad, there is a very strong resemblance! He is also short! The funny thing is my brother looks nothing like them, but his son is a carbon copy!
I am very blessed to have him and my grandmother still here, we lost both of my mothers parents within the last 5 years.
But his kidneys have started to fail, and the doctors are not giving us very good news. My brother and dad want so badly for him to make it to see the new facility of our church finished.
Up until this project, he has supervised the building of every facility this church has constructed since its inception!
