With a pension from General Electric after 32 years of service, plus a Social Security check for me, plus a Social Security Check for my wife the total comes to barely over $50,000.
Not bad.

More than the wage which isnt too bad the best part about hubbys job is that unlike most who have to work every day... he works 2 weeks 12hrs a day and then he is home 2 weeks and is mine 24 hrs a day those 2 weeks and its like heaven!! He loves his job.. me being a military wife before and my husband was special forces I got used to being alone a lot so either way I am used to it and get much more quality time when he is home with me and the kids!
I make below average.. but at 28,000 a year, I manage to support three growing kids on it. God always provides and makes up the difference where needed some how.
I am blessed, I am not in debt with anything other than I owe a mortgage on my house and I am paying on my car.. don't have long on that though. My house is only mortgaged for about half its worth, so my payment is fairly low...for this area anyway.
We are at almost double the national average. We are blessed.

That average is per employed individual - Is that what you understood? ( I hope so!)

Same here give or take a little... Hubby keeps telling me I could always go back to work since we are back in Dallas and my old job has been begging me for years to come back and my last offer was 92,000 a yr to come back... but the kids are almost all grown and to me its not worth it right now...And he will tell you to him its not either.. he just likes to razz me about it all the time. I will probably go back once the kids graduate but not until. I enjoy being with them so much! And having the ability to go be with hubby is nice too!
