I think our culture overuses the word "love"... most people realize though, that when you say... "I absolutely love those shoes" it doesn't mean you want to marry them or would die for them.
I love the foods I love!
Girl, her eyes were lighting up when she said it. That is just weird.
She isn't the first person I've encountered like this!
As for myself, when I say that I love something material, I am just really exagerating. I often say that I love mexican food.... I really don't have an affection for it...But I do love cheesecake and I am affectionate with cheesecake...! I savor everybite! Mmmm LOL

Seriously, when I was young, probably up to my late teens, I was completely with you. A funny family story is that one time when I was about 6 years old we were going on a picnic, and I saw them loading food into the car. I moaned and said, "We have to eat on PICNIC too???"
I didn't start to LOVE food until I started cooking, and it has all been downhill since then. Ask me if I had weight issues until my mid 20's. You can guess the answer.
Some people have a food addiction..... Eat when they are happy, eat when they are sad, eat when they are bored. When they are eating that is the only time they feel comforted. Hmm... maybe tyhat is what "I love food means" I dunno. I haven't really been there.
I think you are right.
When my sister was here - everywhere we went she had to take a thermos of coffee and her diet cokes. I just wanted some water. I told her that I don't see how she isn't sick everyday. Yucko!!!
