Re: For Renda-And Anyone Else For That Matter!

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you
Once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

Re: For Renda-And Anyone Else For That Matter!

What are seniors citizens worth? They are worth a fortune, with all the silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys and lead in their feet.

As for myself, I have become a little older since I saw you last and a few changes have come into my life since then. Frankly, I have become quite a frivolous old gal. I am seeing five gentlemen every day. As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed. I immediately go to see John. After that Charlie Horse comes along, and he really takes a lot of my time and attention.

When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays for the rest of the day. However, he doesn't like to stay in one place very long, so he just takes me from joint to joint. Finally after such a busy tiring day, I'm really glad to be able to go to bed with Ben Gay. What a life!!

Tune is from the Sound of Music - A Few Of My Favorite Things

Maalox and nosedrops and needles for knitting
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings
Bundle of magazines tied up with string
These are a few of my favorite things

Cadillacs, cataracts, hearing aids, glasses
Polident, Fixodent, false teeth in glasses
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings

These are a few of my favorite thingggggs

When the pipes leak
When the bones creak
When the knees go bad
I remember a few of my favorite things and then I don't feeeeeel sooooo badddd

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions
No spicy hot food and no food with onions
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring

These are a few of my favorite thingggggs

When the pipes leak
When the bones creak
When the knees go bad
I remember a few of my favorite things and then I don't feeeeel sooooo badddd

Back pains, confused brains and no fear of sinnin'
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin'
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames
When we remember our favorite thingggggs

When the joints ache
When the hips break
When the eyes grow dim

Then I remember the great life I've had
And then I don't feeeeel sooooo baddddddd

Re: For Renda-And Anyone Else For That Matter!

As I have grown older, I do find it harder to remember what I was discussing at times.
Okay. Let's go to the park now.
