Well, maybe it is time to call her bluff and follow with a story that includes a midget, a three legged goat, and a kiddy pool full of k-y jelly...

In my opinion, if they're exaggerations (wild or mild), keep a sense of humor. Usually they will embarrass themselves at some point and learn their lesson.

Like someone else said (was it Carpenter the Ultra Con?), if the lies are damaging someone else's reputation in some way or are harmful in any way, then I would say something to let them know that you know what they're saying isn't true, and that you don't want to hear anymore of it.

It was me and don't go quoting any common sense I just might make on accident.
