You and I usually agree, don't we? You are "approved" by me!

We may not truly know what God approves or disapproves until judgement day. JMHO

Aligning our hearts and minds with His Word is the only way to live, really. Anything else is merely existence in this present world out of His will.

How tragic it will be to have performed/operated in the flesh and hear the Master speak these words...

Matt 7:21-23
22 At the Judgment many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.' 23 But I will reply, 'You have never been mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil.'

Tragic indeed. There is a prominent preacher(independent) that everyone would recognize if I mentioned the name. His singers and 'worship team' is comprised of some who don't claim to be Christians. The minister knows this. In fact, they have worldy websites advertising their gigs and what establishments they'll be in on Saturday night.

It sounds good. People cry and are moved by it, but that's not the important factor in light of eternity.

Barb, you always have great thoughts to add to a conversation!

Matt 7:21-23 shows that signs and wonders (miracles) doesn't necessarily mean you have Gods approval.

Thank you, but I just 'shirt-tailed' on someone else's thought.

In other words, they thought they were fine, but they were not. They will be surprised to hear those words. They thought they had it figured out, had the right understanding. But they didn't. They did evil deeds, but didn't know it. I'm sure they thought their hearts and minds were aligned with God's word.

I find it interesting that there are so many factions in Christianity, some believing they are the only ones who have it figured out, yet some of the beliefs in the different exclusivist camps are exact opposites. They can't all be true, and yet each camp is convinced they are right, that their doctrines line up with Scripture. Very interesting.

How does one's vision know it has God's approval?

Can it be because the Holy Ghost moves in your service? There has been moves of the holy Ghost in services where pure heresy was being peached!

Can it be when folks are recieving the Holy Ghost in your services? Keep in mind that the Holy Ghost is poured out in Trinity churches too!

Can it be because the vision is growing? Benny Hinn's following has grown by leaps and bounds.

What are your thoughts?

Is your vision in line with God's... laid out for us in His Word.
Word and Spirit never disagree because they're one in the same.

That's usually how I judge myself.

A whole lot of twisting and cutting and pasting goes on in some religions.
Just look to the Apostles for your pattern Timmy. They walked with the one who came to save us.

That's what pretty much every Christian does. But they get different answers.

Re: God's Approval!

My name is Ron & I approve this thread!

Seriously, I can see one point in my life where I knew God approved of my life 110%!

I was flat on my back crying in a Church office feeling a load of condemnation when Pastor walked in and said, "God told me to tell you that he is pleased with you!"

What had happened previously?

I was going through a time in my life when I was fighting, bitterness, church, leadership,
& God.
I finally shook myself off & cleared some things up & Repented!
That was about 17 years ago.

So to me, God's approval of us stems from us living a repentant life, and a life of humility!
