LOL!!!! Using that King James English almost persuadest me.

I do have to confess that one morning I was in the early service I was feeling ill and had not eaten breakfast so I slipped out to the coffee shop and ate a hot cinnamon roll while watching that part of the service on the big plasma screen in the coffee shop. I slipped back into service in a much better frame of mind!

You'd think with all the triple shot mochas being served at C.C., you would see more "Jerichoing" around there, lol!!!

Just kidding man, I couldn't resist!!

The past few months Dan Scott has been teaching / preaching about the place of emotion in worship, etc.

CC is not going to become POA but he has made some good points about how the human psyche works and that when people are desperate and in need of God they probably need to cry out in an emotionally way to him even though God is not deaf and does not need that to hear us. It is for themselves they do this.

Dan has been leading the church to be more open to emotional worship within reason without becoming emotion based as my heritage in old time Pentecost many times is.

The presence of God is very strong at Christ Church and I have been as touched and blessed there as in any Pentecostal service. I would like to see it move a little more "emotional" but not much as I think it has a good biblical balance. I don't see what old time Pentecostals call "shouting" anywhere in the New Testament.

In today's second Sunday morning service was the first for 2008 that I am aware of.

Kind of hurts our image as "Bapticostals".........
Maybe I'm missing something here, so I'll just ask again...
Was there a message via tongues/interpretation there on Sunday ?
And if so, what was it?

Yes there was. It was an encouragement to the church and reminder that God wants to use CC to reach our city, etc for Him, etc. Also a call to draw close to God. Nothing about Tulsa. LOL!!

The thread is really just kind of kidding not because there was any special thing imparted.

A long time ago I think CS and others had the idea that Christ Church was so "Baptist" like that it did not have any move of the Spirit or operations of the Spirit. CS asked one time if T&I ever happened during services and it does probably a half dozen times a year so I started posting when it happens as a "report to Coonskinner"! LOL!!

I don't think anyone with an open mind would visit CC on a Sunday morning and not experience the presence of God in a powerful way even though it is different from a traditional Pentecostal emotional shockamoo service. That flies in the face of what somes perception of Christ Church Nashville is and I try to set the record straight.

I had a relative visit Christ Church about 5 years ago, and they reported that it was "dead, with no spirit"...it's good to hear otherwise.
