Any Republican nominee will beat any of them.
Why?
Because the Republicans, each of them, have and already outlining their platform clearly and definitively. This is important to the intelligent electorate.
I've watched every Debate among the Democrats. It's all FLUFF. There is little to no substance except, "I am gonna cut and run out of Iraq...ready or not." "I am for Universal Health Care...it is going to be mandated that all of you buy it...under penalties if you don't." Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Another one of them says, "Greed is taking over Washington...I'M GONNA TAKE THEM ON." OK, so what does that mean? Does that mean that he is going to start harassing major corporations thus sending more of them overseas where tax and political climate is inviting. Can't get any more stupid than that. So take them on and confront them idiot candidate and do all you can to FURTHER erode the job and tax base.
On and on it goes. The sheet is going to be jerked off the nakedness. As Warren Buffet has said about some of these stock shorts, "the tide has gone out and you are found swimming naked."
Empty suits, will be seen what it is when the general campaign gets underway.

Folks, here we have reasonable rationale why the youth do not look to the church for leadership either. This has to be out of touch as I have ever seen with what faces our voters.
And I thought it bad when Thad and Dora declared they would vote for Hillary and Health Care.
Apprehended, tell me one single item that the Republicans have accomplished with THEIR mandate. Only one single item, if you please? Was growing Government part of that Mandate that Newt and Sununu crafted 17 or so years ago ? Yet we have a lame duck President who only vetoed TWO bills in SIX years and who has shown to have made some tremendous growth in the Beltway Budgets. I posted on another thread- this is why the Republicans LOST the LAST election. You, sir, are out of touch!

Speaking of a giant
er..ex...ex...excuse me....
How did you glean from my past remarks that I had placed the laurels of approval upon the brow of possibly the worst Presidential administration in the 20th century, save possibly Jimmy Carter's?
It is ME that is out of touch? I suppose that I am in no way in your world. In fact, I would again vote for the worst President of the 20th century if he could get at least one or two more conservative/constructionist judges on the Supreme Bench. 50 million dead babies are enough! You seem to not care how many of them have been killed by liberal Presidents appointing whacko judges that have a socialst agendas. But if we could get one or two more conservative judges on the Supreme Bench, maybe we could get Roe overturned and save the lives of the NEXT 50 million babies during the next 40 years. Maybe that does not matter to you, but it matters to me...this out of touch pain that so easily generates a deep .
Incidently, the FIVE Democratic candidates are FOR and WILL support GAY marriages...a sure harbinger to the death of civilization. The only exception is Hillary who seems to be so nebulous on her rationale that it is impossible to tell where she is. ALL of the Republican candidates will appoint conservative judges to the bench. All are pledged against gay marriages except Rudy but who also states that he will appoint constructionist judges to the bench if elected. That's good enough for me.
Just groan on. Like you, I am sick and disgusted with this president whose ONLY redeeming credit is that he did appoint TWO constructionist judges to the supreme bench and a host of overs to lower courts as well. THANK GOD for that.
So, campaign on as vigorously as you like for the baby killings and the queers that will destroy civilization unless we get a definition of what is marriage by our courts...or by legislation.
I can't think of even ONE reason that any reasonable person would support any one of those six Democrats....no sir not even ONE reason. By every test of honesty, decency and sound judgment, there is not one reason to vote for any one of them.
btw, I don't like being told that I have to buy heath insurance for myself, even if I don't want it...under stiff penalties if I don't. THAT'S NUTS. Sorry you support that insanity. You want to see the cost of health insurance go through the roof???? Get that piece of legislature signed by a NUTBALL president.
So, if you belong to a church that cares NOTHING about these very moral issues....that's too bad. I CARE.

Incidently,
This present Pelosi/Reed led congress is absolutely the WORST in American history. The American electorate gives them, according to the most recent poll a measly 13 percent and seems to be going down from there. Dont' look now but here is a giant because it is a DEMOCRATIC majority congress in BOTH houses.

Would you rather they actually govern? I LOVE it when they are traveling around doing squat. A gridlocked do-nothing government, at this point, is far far better then one that is messing everything up.

Whoa now there, little buddy! Most of government spending is tied up in social programs that have been virtually untouchable. And the growth in government spending has been in the increases to those programs that were mandated by law.
The ONE THING that you're looking for that Newt & Co. were able to do was to get enough Dems to agree to limit the rate of growth in these programs. And the Repubs needed "super majorities" to do that (2/3 of the Senate) so they had to get Dems onboard.
Until you do something about that meter thats been running since "The Great Society" and "The War on Poverty" and get it to at least slow down, then government spending will always be in the deficit.
The "balanced" budgets of the Clinton years were the result in a temporary slow down in growth under Newt and a booming economy - booming because of Reagan's tax policies. Also Clinto benefited from unrealistic projections. No budget was ever balanced (none has been since Eisenhower). Clinton just "projected" balanced budgets.
The problem with spending can only be fixed by a super majority of Republicans. Politically, there's no other way.

From what I understand, the Pelosi government was voted in as a backlash against a Republican controlled government for 6 years. I would expect the same thing to happen in 2008, that a democrat (whoever the candidate is) will be elected as president.

That is a very reasonable deduction, as far as the congress is concerned. I believe that the American public is so fed up with them that they will probably stay with a Republican president. Obama will get the nomination based on race, but in the general election, the American people will not conclude that race is enough of a reason to vote in a president.
With the state of racial environment in this country where the most of the Black race sees RACE as both the center and circumfrence of their whole world, measuring everything from that center, a black president will prove to be problematic. Why? Let him mess up in the least and get some criticism, the likes of Sharpton and Jackson will yell "RACISM." It will have the effect of silencing commentators on T.V. for fear of the label. NOT GOOD...
With only a 13 percent approval rating...and going down, the President is not doing much better at about a 25 percent. This tells me that Lou Dobbs is probably more right about his assessment than most...the whole gang from the lowest page to the Speaker and Senate leader needs to be run out of town on a rail, both Republican and Democrat.
