The Christmas Eve service is one of my favourite parts of the whole church Christmas celebration. We intersperse readings of the Christmas story, from the Anunciation to Mary to the Wise Men's visit, with Christmas carols, and have a short, but inspiring (I hope), message from the pastor, and conclude with Christmas cookies and punch (Kool Aid drill).

We were going to have an interpretive dance troupe, dressed as elves, do Jingle Bell Rock, but I've got under conviction over that, so, now, we're just going to have a brother that talks with his hands do one of the readings and call it Interpretive Sign.

And, on Tuesday, an ecumenical gathering of clergy and saints around the carcass of a dead turkey.

You're right about that!

I still can't agree with just anything being done in the name of worship...
I agree. Whatever type of dance is being done modesty needs to be practiced. Anything that fails to edify Christ and the Body of Christ has no place in worship IMHO.

I've have liked it even more if it had been to a good McGruder song.

I'd as soon have a root canal with a rototiller as listen to very much of that music.

The lights and smoke were great. I might try a strobe and some pyrotechnics the next time I preach on the nether world (and the music that is spawned there).
