I am going to move on to some other threads now. Talking about this old garbage is not amusing to me.

Opens old wounds that I don't want to be scratching.

Peace to all and my prayers for all, that you find healing from the wounds inflicted upon you.
here is a hug for you.....thanks for coming in and helping show what pain some of us have been through!

I remember that situation. Remember though, since they were not church members, different rules could apply.

We went back too...we had the understanding that the leadership had changed a lot. It did appear to be this way, but the longer we were there, we witnessed the leadership slip back into their old ways and they lost many, many precious people once again.

Good way to keep them from becoming church members too!

I was remembering another thing...no sleep overs for the kids....

No camping with other families, or vacations...because everyone one might get toooo familiar we were told the story of a two couples that got too close...over and over....and over...have no clue if it was true or not, or just a story to scare us into not getting toooo close to anyone!

Ya know they really did have a paranoid outlook on life...

Remember when I said that you had to have two broken legs to miss church...well unless your part of the Pastors family or the pastor himself...they were very VAIN!

He's here, if it's the same guy...from Oregon and same name, so what are the odds? lol

I haven't heard that he's weird or anything though as far as that goes.

Rules...
1. No talking on the phone for more than 10 minutes
2. No friends outside of church, not even family (it was discouraged strongly)
3. No more than three families at a time in your home and not too often, if you had a gathering you are suppose to ask everyone in the church so no one gets offended.
4. No home bible studies without the ministry being there
5. You must attend all fellowships
6. So lunch dates, or shopping with friends even the ones in church...
7. No important decisions made without consulting the pastor...like, buying a car(new, used, how much you can spend)...same with a home or property.
8. You were not allowed to move, unless you had his OK.

Being we are older we did not attend parenting classes or marriage classes so we missed out on a lot of the rules...but over time we learned. This is not everything, but for the moment its enough...I might add more as I think of them.....

So there ya go Thad....
Children must have very rigid rules, you know children cannot be trusted to do anything right.

Thi type of control freak pastor is not limited to any area of the country, or just in the AMF.

I can't believe some that say they have been in pentecost for however many years and they have never seen or heard of these kind of churches.
How about in Dallas,TX 1977!! I hope it is very rare.

I don't think its as rare as some would hope, the Internet has given people a way of finding each other and finding out some things that are happening in some churches is not right! Not biblical! Shining the light of truth were previously its been dark and secretative....
