Jesus was the Logos, the Wisdom of God, prior to the incarnation..Regarding the Logos we read,
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The Logos was with God, and the Logos was God. Not another God, but God Himself. The Father clearly, and eternally, projected this Logos as the Sun does it's light. A reflection of Himself throughout all creation, by which He is known... by which He framed the worlds. And it was this reflection of Himself (a reflection of His very soul if you will) that was made flesh and bone, and was then held to nurse on Mary's breast
