LOL! My first car was an 76 Grand Prix. I loved that car! I can't remember the year. It had to have been before '77 cause that's when I graduated and exited and never looked back.

My first car was a 79 Grand Prix. I would armor all the vinyl back seat so that it would be really slick. Then I would let my best friend and his sweetie drive so that me and my girl could sit in back. I told him to take the curves sharply so that she would slide all the way over to me.

HAHA!!

my first car was a 1980 Mustang. but dont think it was a cool car. not by a long shot. it was a 4 cylinder that would actully slow down when you hit the gas. the lining in the overhead was falling down and I had to tack it up with thumtacks.

so un cool.

Cars and the seventies....ouch, this topic is a little more painful memories.

My high school allowed seniors to take five courses in the morning and then leave at noon. This option took the school bus option off the table. Car pools became a best alternative choice.

My car pool was with 3 other guys:
1. Larry; a 68 Cadilac coup-de-ville convertable, he hand brush painted it yellow. It rocked.
2. John; first in our peer group to have a Ford van custom conversions with wood framing for a bed and ofcourse, shag carpetted walls.
3. Eric had his parents Vista Cruiser with the sky lights on the side of the way back seat.
4. I had my grandmom's (she lived with us) 64 Falcon with a metal dash board that would split your forehead like a ripe mellon if the two every made contact. That Falcon was automotive humble pie but compared to walking, it was a much needed option.

My dad had a Chevy Impala. He let me splice into the radio wiring to install my first FM converter so my friends and I could listen to the cool radio stations. What a patient dad, I don't think the front speakers ever quite worked the same unless you had the balance set to the left speaker and the fader set to the back!
