I had to check the top of the screen. Yep, it still says Apostolic Friends Forum. When I read that statement by Prax, I thought I had wandered onto the AMF.

I think that is one of the reasons that turned me off on that sort of group along with the "secrecy"...it's in essence become a secret society

But secret societies are against the manual/affirmation statement. Surely no one would agree to something they didn't believe. I mean thats kind of like signing something saying you won't own a tv, and .........................

Well, I suppose thats another thread.

Well, he said something, and then someone else said no that is wrong, and then someone said uh huh, I did not say that, he did!

And that's an explanation.

Prax, respectfully I disagree. The ability to hide behind an alias over here would allude more to a secret society. I am specifically reminded of a particular secret society originating from the bowels of mississippi...

The "secrecy" and the anonymity here are merely transient. Anyone posting for any period of time will open themselves up to be "revealed." The only people who don't know who I "really am" don't know simply because I am otherwise insignificant to them.

Your forum actually represents something closer to what you coyly refer. You are a closed society bond by an oath to not reveal the deliberations of your group to the outside world. When the contents of your discussions do leak out you scramble around in a panic.

Well that is because its a ministers forum. This one is not and I can respect that. Many men come on those closed forums to vent at times. If you are a minister than you can understand how hard it is at times to simply speak your mind and speak it to people who understand. Like I said, if you are a minister you can understand... Its not because anything unethical is being discussed just simply so men can speak freely. In a sense the veil of the anonymous SN's here are similar to the idea of a closed forum.

Re: I was asked to leave AMF for Apostolic Ministr

Seems to be a lot of fear abounding in forum land. We can hide from others and sometimes even ourselves. But we cannot hide from God, and we reveal our true selves to Him. And that includes preachers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, etc....... And sometimes, we find some truths about others that they thought were hidden. What was said about hurting the least of these? Sometimes it literally hurts my heart to read some things on an Apostolic forums.
