Re: What was Paul's thorn in the flesh?
The only person here that has utilized biblical scripture is Praxeas.
All others have answered with offenses and assumptions, how utterly sad.

Re: What was Paul's thorn in the flesh?
i am not trying to offend you at all, but you dont seem to understand that the word is of no value if it isnt related to real life, argue about the thorn in the flesh all you want, buffet is just as relevant applied symbolically as your referrence to constantly striking, remember the letter killeth , but the spirit gives life, good by to you too, dt

'trusting God to be God' sounds more like hope to me. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not see. When we have faith, we should live like we have faith. Our actions, our words, even our thoughts should exhibit that faith.
For instance, if we have faith that there truly is a city whose builder and maker is God and in this world we are strangers and pilgrims, how should this cause us to live.
If we believe that the Lake of Fire is a literal place and people are going there, how should this cause us to live, pray, etc
IOW, do we live like we have faith?

This is similar to what the Hebrew boys said before they were thrown into the fiery furnace. They believed God was able to deliver but if it was His will not to deliver them, they still would not bow down.
Just some thoughts.

Buffet applied in real life as you desired
2 Corinthians 11:24-26
24) Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes (buffet) save one.
25) Thrice was I beaten with rods (buffet), once was I stoned (buffet), thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
Shall I keep going?

Job said, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust him".
Yes, God is able to heal everyone all the time, but sometimes He chooses not to.
The ultimate test is what we will do with the "But if not"......will we still worship when we're thrown into the furnace? Will we still worship when others turn their back on us, and we're sitting in a pile of broken pottery used to scrape our boils? Will we still trust God when we're sitting in a prison cell, after having done all we can do to serve Him, and we know that the executioner is on his way to behead us?
To indicate that the reason some folks die early is merely because they don't have faith is an insult to their walk with God, and it smacks of Job's friends asking "So, what did you do wrong to deserve this?"
|
Are you still preaching even though your not pastoring? I hope so.

You see how confused you are? I said your earlier comment had no value, not you as an individual.
I see the type I'm dealing with.......good day.
