My family and I went to one of the GC services and one of Joel Osteen's meetings. My father in law and Acts 2:38 Bible thumper said there was more of God's presence in the JO meeting than at the GC. If GC's are like 2006 GC, it won't be worth $25.... btw Joel Osteen's Cleveland tour stop costs $10 per ticket... That paid for the rent of the building.

I'd suggest charging $25 for the business meeting and keep the services free...
Anathema ... JO ...

Another comment from those high up cheap seats.

GC is a business meeting first! Somewhere it became a opportunity to fleece the flock and turned to entertainment instead of evangelism.

Why does everything that we do have to be some evangelistic meeting? Does the Bible not teach the value of fellowshipping together with people of like faith? There's notning wrong with people getting together to celebrate their life together in Christ and the church. Conference is a wonderful time of encouragement and strength to a lot of people as they worship together and reconnect with friends.

Good point. Edification was replaced with Entertainment.
