Wow! This is exactly the thought process of the RCC.

I guess I interpreted your post to mean that ministry is above the laity...I don't believe in that for one minute! If I misunderstood, I apologize.

While I can only assume Brother Maddix means well, his statement is weak and embarrassing. This issue is an important, even strategic subject that is worthy of reason, logic and strong reference to His Word. Playing to the reader's emotional response or using preaching techniques is not the answer to meeting this volatile issue head on.

While I support the use of television in worldwide evangelism, Brother Maddix should not be a major representative of that cause. Influencing and manipulating church congregations is not the proper methodology to employ in a sound discussion of the use of technology in this present world.

Let's discuss and dissect the issue, but please do it with a reasonably sound basis of thought and scriptural anchoring. We Pentecostals are an emotional group, and that is a strength in our response to His Spirit and direction. But to argue (a positive connotation) a position with phrases like, "at the end of our rope" is grasping at a clear emotional straw.

Oh, my kingdom for an intellectual thinker who can write...

If that is true perhaps it's only because the leaders keep the sheep dumbed down intentionally?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Oooh ... I'm telling!!!!!!

But if you admit that Pentecostals are an emotional group wouldn't an emotional argument be just what the doctor ordered?

Would you share some reasonable and spiritually anchored thought to support your present position?

Perhaps because they are LOOKED at as sheep.

Or as Hilary or Teddy look at their voters......

The article borders on embarrasing. I sure hope we have better representation than that in Tampa.

The blog is typically MM- Passionate. Based on tunnel vision: Reach the Lost. Personally, I can't fault the man for that. I think its probably more a "vent" than a true attempt to persuade other ministers to see things a certain way.

As for emotional and illogical--the opposition certainly owns a large chunk of change in that real estate.
