Our whole concept in Jackson has been to be "unchurchy". We are across the street from the largest church in the city and it is a very beautiful, but traditional buildling. We actually told the architects to make ours look like a mall. The present facilities has a coffee bar when you come in the door with several flat screen monitors going. People love to come and fellowship before and after services. When we move into the new sanctuary, our present sanctuary will become all coffee bar/fellowship room. It doesn't take away from the fact that God's Spirit is there; it's just a different concept.

It would do some people good to come and see before they criticize, and that includes criticizing our doctrine and worship.
Sis... I think you guys have a good thing going.

I'd go there if I lived in your area.

They haven't even broken ground yet and I'm thinking that I'd love to go to the dedication services...

I know they will be crushed. Couldn't you at least send your teenage son so he could report back on more "worldly" people?

He wouldn't go.

I took my to teen to the UPC youth camp last night. Half way through the preaching they leaned over to me and said" can we go, we've had enough of this?"

They are used to good church and good standards.
