that is not the same as "Muhammad murdered and raped." i always heard that the Qur'an was just the Pentateuch reworded--has this gone out of fashion now?

OK, have you read the Koran, and the Hadiths?

i do not have the cultural lens for those things--they don't seem to bother Muslims, and they are not for me to judge. You would do better to explain how David, a murderer and adulterer, was the apple of God's eye, since we are both Christians.

No, think you think it's the most unrealistic and does not fit the known facts.

Qur'an yes, Hadiths no--and i won't be reading them. I am willing to stipulate that Muhammad slaughtered everything in his path. I don't care--that is for Muslims to argue. I am a Christian, and so i am naturally more curious about David, and why Christians are so unlike Christ. I get along with Muslims just fine, and i lived among them on and off for decades.

Because he repented when he was reminded that he was still a shepheard while he was a king. Yet, God didn't allow him to build the temple because he was a man of war.
Islamic religious past doesn't seem to bother Muslims? FLDS aren't bothered by having multiple wives either, and the FLDS women don't mind to live that lifestyle. So, why would anyone be bothered by a religion they are happy to be involved with? Muslims are not bothered by Islamic history? I don't understand how you being on a Christian forum with a plethora of differing views can make such a statement about another religion?
You would have to ask every Muslim these questions to see how they answer.
Shaz, it is about people, religions, political systems, and ideologies are made up of people. People who have differing opinions on how to implement their beliefs, and ideas. Your pendulums swings just as extreme as some of those you are debating.

You won't be reading them? Then you cannot argue with those who have and reach their own conclusions. Why Christians are so unlike Christ? That's not your problem nor mine. We are told not to measure ourselves among ourselves, therefore you need to be following the example of Christ. Just as Paul said that they were to follow him as he followed Christ. You must set the example of being Christlike. No one else, only you. Own your own behavior and everything else will fall in line.

at some point one comes to realize that that cannot be the truth simply because that is what the Gov is saying, and they are constitutionally unable to tell the truth

So, we don't believe them at anytime?

Funny to me that this same Muhammad espouses the exact same thing, but to his own followers! hmm, wonder where the disconnect is.
