What evidence have you seen which suggests he was doing this?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

The articles I read didn't make it appear this was done intentionally for himself nor anyone else.
Previously working in fraud investigation, this happens a lot, and quite a few times people don't realize it's a punishable offense. They just don't want big brother's nose in their personal, legal finances.
Hopefully this will be repealed soon. It's a bad law

Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
He pled guilty ergo he is obviously guilty or he is lying, no one lies to get punished ,I'm willing to go with he made a very unwise decision to do this, obviously because the guy was using him extra special ie cut rate price etc. so unwise naivete, whatever but guilty, hopefully for his sake he doesn't have to do any time with the feds, their is no time off for good behavior with them its all served ,well unless your a druggie and you have Obama leaving office soon you can expect him to empty the prisons for drug offenses

More than likely he pled guilty as part of a deal to avoid a massive fine and long prison term.
You don't have to be guilty or lying to be forced into pleading guilty. Especially with a dumb law like this.

This might be the case, because when reading what was in the articles the elder claimed innocents. A plea may of been the only way that his council was able to proceed with the case. In order to work something out with the Sheriff of Nottingham. I mean the Feds.
