You are absolutely right. Rush knew exactly what he was doing.....and I agree with him most of the time! But he's not helping to win over the good conservative black people, IMO.

Also, in a vacuum the difference between calling a black male adult a boy and saying he is acting childish would be nonexistent. However, since we do not live in a vacuum, all of the real historical and cultural implications make them too drastically different things. A man of Limbaugh's experience and worldliness knows that. It's just unnecessary...

You're position is a defense of Rush. My position is, we KNEW that term would be inflammatory despite not always meaning to be bad, but Rush used it anyways. Come on. Im not a Democrat. Im not black. Im not a liberal, but Im smart enough to know if I called a black man that is high profile "little boy" that it would be inflammatory...Rush is supposed to have a higher IQ than I do.

Ferd, I love you and respect you. It's obvious we are on polar opposite sides of the issue and I wish I could express my disagreement with you without you flipping out on me and calling me names. I didn't jump into this thread until page 8 and in that post I said that you're only seeing it from your point of view and not considering the viewpoint of others. I think you do that frequently and I've voiced that opinion. I don't think I deserve for you to react the way you do. But you do and I accept that and I acknowledge that you have the right to express yourself however you like, even though I may not like it.

I appreciate the sentiments, but I really don't think you see what I'm saying. Rush (or any other stranger) doesn't mean enough to me for me to get terribly offended at what they say. There is a very clear and pervasive view of the right that exists in black America. Black conservatives have to contend with this view when discussing matters of politics and culture in our community. This sort of rhetoric goes a long way towards rendering all arguments moot.
Yes, I see what you're saying and on one level I agree, however, somewhere, somehow this PC stuff has to stop, imo.
Somehow mature people have to take into consideration Rush affects nobody, he can't make a single policy that will help or harm anyone.
It seems when he makes a point about the left that is right on, the left says he's just an entertainer. When he says something they can pounce on suddenly he's the centerpiece of all things conservative.
