People think that things like Prop 8 are just 'political' or 'civil' matters. But there is a spiritual dimension to this stuff that every Christian should be aware of if they have their head on straight. Satan may be the prince of the power of the air... but it should be obvious that he also uses political systems to push his moral filth on a society and to engraft his spiritual wickedness into the laws of a nation. Whenever Christians have a chance to oppose it they should do so.

It shocks me that so many believers dont seem to see this.

You can stand for righteousness without trampling people's private rights to live as they choose. Preach it, teaching, and enforce it in the church. The world will be the world.

Having married into a family where one side is Jewish I find the comparison HIGHLY offensive.

Again, neither McCain or Obama are as evil as Hitler. This comparison only highlights how irrational so many conservatives in the conservative movement have become.

You're failing to see my point....when the church was focused on strictly spiritual things we had awesome revival, healings, revelations, and mighty moves of God. The more POLITICAL we get the more it becomes obvious that we are carnal...trusting in Uncle Sam over Father God.

No one said he was, but there are some historical comparisons. Economic chaos and uncertainity have often proceeded major political, societal upheavals that lead to catatosrophic changes by a so called reformer with a radical past and associations.

If you want to live right you can live right. The Government doesn't make people morally debased...people choose to be morally debased...even under "conservative" government. Sometimes it's worse because it's so well hidden behind the spit and polished image of conservatism.
