You had better go back and re read the posts. Esther did not start the thread to "slam" the UPC. Some over sensitive people felt the need to defend what was not being attacked.

but IMO, that doesnt excuse overlooking a very serious underlying issue in his church....you know what I mean? IF this kind of behavior is being practiced, talked about...whatever.....it's a sure sign something isnt right, you know?
seems like a pastor, or perhaps some other seasoned elder would pick up on SOMETHING being off....
it just bothers me more when we hear about things coming to light in a church that literally destroys the innocents involved and you find out it went on for a very long time......where is the discernment?
Maybe I expect too much....I'm not surprised by the behavior creeping into the church....it seems so many of the younger generations go to church b/c of tradition or habit...there isnt much "relationship" with God anymore...it's such a social scene.....there isnt much moving of the spirit in churchs anymore.
What happened to that being the NORM?

I see. I guess thats what happens when you jump in after just skimming a few miscellaneous posts,
I will have to do better the next time. However having been exposed to just exactly that tendency by ANY denomination group or sub group to mischaracterize those of OTHER groups that just kind of resonated with me.,
My bad. I will try to be much more thorough in my reading before I comment,
Thanks

LOL!!! I had the son of an ultra con pastor tell me one time that when he was with a girl in a hotel room they always made sure they turned the TV to face the wall so they would not be tempted to watch it after sex!
The truth is sexual sin happens in every paradigm of Pentecost, Chrisitanity, and the general population.
