How do you think they would fund their socialized hospitalization they are wanting?
First, Obama will not double income taxes, I’ve reviewed his plan. If you can demonstrate how this is so by providing sources, I’ll be glad to review them.
But let’s assume Obama will double income taxes. When I worked in the private sector I paid nearly $272.00 a month in Federal income taxes. In addition to this I paid about $460.00 as my health insurance premium. That’s a grand total of $732.00 a month just in taxes and health insurance premiums. Now…let’s assume Obama doubles my income taxes to pay for a national health insurance system. I pay about the same amount right now but let’s round it up to $280.00 a month in Federal income taxes. If he doubled my income taxes I’d pay $560.00 a month to cover their national health insurance program. But…I wouldn’t have to pay that $460.00 premium each month seeing that I’d be using the national health insurance. That means I’d save $172.00 a month. Yep…I’d actually have an additional $172.00 of my own money in my pocket if Obama doubled my income taxes to pay for a national health insurance program! LOL Remember, I’d also not be paying for co-pays, fees, or most prescription meds. Bro…I’d make out like a bandit. I certainly wish Obama could have been President when I was working in the private sector, I would have saved an additional $2,064.00 a year!
Most folks don’t crunch the numbers and factor in that their current health care expenses would be paid for by the adjustment. Let’s consider DT. He admitted to paying nearly $900.00 a month for health insurance. I wonder if the government doubled his income taxes and this $900.00 expense went away if he’d walk away making money or loosing money? Most likely, he’d bring home more of is own money too. Even if they increased his income taxes $900 a month...dt would break even and he would be essentially paying what he pays now. lol

Mine would be higher.

I don't hope the Government helps me...I believe in preaching a national morality. Sick people have a right to live without being denied life saving care.
Forget welfare. We're talking health care.
Not one person in America will be refused medical care because they cannot pay for it right now. that is patently false.
national morlity? or selective national morality?
my national morality requires the governemnt to work to create the best environment possible for individuals to live thier lives unencumbered by government.

I am 36 years old. I have not had health care since I left my parents home. Why, because i cannot afford it. However, I have never been refused care.
Here’s a question for you bro….have you had any expensive procedures that you couldn’t pay for or are currently making payments on?
Here’s why I ask....every year an estimated 25,000 people file bankruptcy due to their inability to pay medical bills. Guess what, the health care industry doesn’t just eat the loss…they pass that down to us. In addition you have 50 million uninsured, a large number of whom seek care in emergency rooms and they are either slowly paying their bills or they are not paying them. That’s millions of people doing this. All those slow pays and unpaid bills are handed down to ME and others who pay for our health insurance! That’s why our premiums are skyrocketing…to pay for you and millions of others who don’t have health insurance. Frankly, if they turned you away and refused care it would stabilize prices. But since they don’t turn anyone away, the more uninsured seek attention…the greater their losses…and the greater their losses…the higher our premiums will go…the higher our premiums go…the more people will opt out of coverage because they can’t afford it…the more people opt out of coverage…the more people there will now be driving up premiums.
If you’re uninsured and seeing medical attention….you’re driving up costs bro! I’m glad you get attention…but bro…we’re paying for a free ride. That’s not right. You should be paying something into the system, everyone should be forced to pay something into the system for their coverage. The best way to insure this is taxation. When everyone pays into the system and is covered the health care industry gets paid…when they get paid they don’t pass down as much loss…and that lowers our premiums and allows government to negotiate premiums and low cost coverage.
Quote:
It is my responsibility to get health care, not the governments to get it for me. Health care is not a right. It is a service that cost.
So if health care isn’t a right…why do they allow you to get care even though you’re uninsured? And I assure you if you get a serious disease needed expensive treatments you’ll be denied care until you have coverage. If you really believe that it’s not a right DON’T seek any medical care until you’re insured…practice what you preach. At least that will be one less free-loader driving up our costs.

Now that I am older I have seen the need to have health coverage over the last couple of years. I have reset my priorities and have made changes in my life in order to get coverage. by the end of this year I will be able to have it.
We’re all doing that bro. Welcome to adulthood.

Anyone else can do the same. It's all about personal responsibility.
Really? Wait until you get a condition that requires regular care and treatment and you loose or have to change your job. Then we’ll see how you feel when your new employer’s health insurance company DENIES you coverage because of your “pre-existing condition” and you find yourself without sufficient coverage to care for your own or your child or spouses condition. My wife’s friend Julie is a case in point. She’s a successful marketing manager and she has cancer. She was going to take another job and found out that the insurance they provided wouldn’t cover her condition because it would be “pre-existing”. Some folks with heart conditions also find that their condition isn’t covered because it’s pre-existing. Here’s the deal…you’re young and haven’t been denied yet. Wait until it happens to you or someone you love. Then we’ll talk again about it.

Again you’re misrepresenting the facts. If someone wonders into the ER with a broken bone or severe cut they are not denied. But again…they’re billed and many don’t pay driving up our costs.
However, there are people denied treatments and transplants all the time because of lack of sufficient coverage I their plan or because it’s related to a pre-existing condition. Apples and oranges. That’s why they have these fund raising marathons to help people pay for new livers and stuff bro. You should know that.
An estimated 15,000 Americans DIE every year because they have insufficient health insurance coverage for procedures or treatments they need.

Please tell that to your local fire department, that way if your house catches fire they don’t’ waste their time “encumbering” you. LOL

Would you rather keep your own pail of water on the back porch to protect your home from fire…or would you rather pay a little more in taxes and allow the fire department to do it?

My dad worked there for 15 yrs and saw every financial paper that came in and out and you would be amazed at the amount of "free" care that is given... he doesnt have a case but thats ok... we all understand him... no worries...
And for us.... We pay 150 a month for our insurance and his company pays double that and if we lost that payment but our taxes were doubled... hahahha Lord we would be broke as broke could get... Oh but wait... this doesnt affect the oil industry at all ROFL Yea ok!

I have never received health care that I did not pay for. I paid it out over time, but I paid for it. So I do practice what I preach.
I have a friend who owns two good size health clinics in Tn. He told me that it is lawsuits and the threat of lawsuits that drive cost up. Not the uninsured.
You are not thinking straight if you think that health care run by the government is better then a free market. I have my own business. If I did not have to pay such high taxes that goes to things like PBS, and Liberal arts, welfare and the like I could afford health care.
Socialism does not work. It has been proven many times over. Anything the government gets it's hands on is doomed to failure.

First, name one. I want to know how much you know about these folks personally. I can give you Julie’s work phone tonight and you can call her tomorrow and have her personally explain to you that she was told that she would be dined coverage for her cancer.
Second, a number of those “uninsured” folks who got treatment are going to qualify for current government programs on the state level. The rest will get billed. Those who will qualify for state help are most likely unemployed and already on some other assistance too. Those who will not qualify and will as a result be billed are typically working folks who just can’t afford health insurance. Do you think they will be able to pay for all their medical bills? Every year a higher and higher percentage declare bankruptcy because they can’t afford those bills. Also…they are not just giving medical care away…the unpaid cost for treating all those folks is inflating our premiums. Of course you have to add late fees, processing fees, and high administrative costs. We’re paying for them…and then some. In a nationalized system….the majority would pay something into the system.

I thought that was funny. I picture you in your boxers pitching bails of water on a blazing house fire arguing that the government fire department should get out of your way. LOL
