Re: What does having the Holy Spirit mean?

It would appear that the earlier part of this thread discussed the issue of speaking in tongues as it relates to the baptism of the Holy Spirit. However, the having the Holy Spirit means much much more than just being able to speak in tongues. I'd like to try to answer the question...

What does having the Holy Spirit mean?

Well... it's the most important doctrine of Scripture. It's also perhaps the most neglected. However, behold... I show you a mystery:
1 Corinthians 6:17
But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
With that being presented, I'll say that "Oneness" is MORE than a "Christology". This mystery is something I'd like to expound upon if it's not understood readily. However, for additional study I'd also like to list a number of truths regarding the reality of having the baptism of the Holy Spirit:
1) New Birth (John 3:5)
2) Eternal life (John 3:15-16)
3) Salvation/release from condemnation (John 3:17-18)
4) The gift of God, eternal life (John 4:10,13)
5) Becoming a “true worshipper” (John 4:23-24)
