Wouldn't it be nice that when we put our foot in our mouth we could just go back an erase the stupid things we said.
Since we can't do that, we just put up a smoke screen and attack the other person by questioning him.

It wasn't stupid, it was to make a point...
Why do we say that we are seeing the same thing they did when we aren't???
And why are there groups that have had over 100,000,000 people speak in tongues since the mid-70s and we're still stuck at 20,000,000 people??? Why is God giving them more of an increase than he's giving us?

7 And all the men were about twelve.

Why in the world would Luke think that a mere 12 men receiving the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus Name was worthy of reporting?

it was the who and how and why that was important, not how many... they were John's followers, who believed but were not baptized or spirit-filled, and it is there to show that you do, in fact, need to be baptized (and then spirit-filled) to be right...

same with the day of pentecost... the fact it was 3,000 made it so much more amazing than if it were 3... 3 is great, Praise God for 3, don't get me wrong... but we can't say that we're experiencing a greater revival than they had until we start seeing more than 3 is all I'm saying...
I guess I'm not sure how we can say we're this great "end-time church" that is seeing greater than the early church saw if we aren't seeing greater things...

I haven't read past this post yet; but could it be that today, what might be "greater" is the fact that people in our society - people who are self-reliant, self-absorbed, career-minded, well off, spoiled, technology driven, medically advanced, educated/knowledgeable, etc. - realize their need for a Savior? Does "greater" really mean quantity?
