****Disclaimer*****

I do know MOW to be a man of enough integrity to have refused ballots.

The fact he was offered one, without being registered shows again how the whole Post #1 is True.

Reminds me of Springsteen, "Born in the USA"

Really...I meant Born in the UPC

Born down in a dead man's church
The first kick I took was when I passed the cup
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up

Born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
Born in the UPC

Got in a little organization jam
So they put a Knife in my back
Sent me off in minute man
To go and join those churches where the women wear slacks

Born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
Born in the UPC

They want us to...
Come back home to the refinery
Superintendant man says "Son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my local man
He said "Son, don't you understand"

I had others who sang your song
They're still there, where many have gone

Down in the shadow of my past
Out by the gas fires of the hot stove
I'm ten years burning down the road it's gone so fast
Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go

Born in the UPC
I was born in the UPC
Born in the UPC
I'm a long gone Daddy in the UPC
Born in the UPC
Born in the UPC
Born in the UPC
I'm a cool rocking Daddy out of the UPC

This is all so very uplifting in a totally non-bashing way.

But Neckstadt is upset when folks rag him about being independent.

No actually I was quoting a former UPC minister who wrote those words...

You might know him so I left his name off....

My Sister is married to a UPCI minister....

I really have no problems with my friends who are....

I just will not do it count me out. That goes for any group not bashing the UPC.
Don't you think there is a difference between going to a gospel meeting and a denominational (political) convention? I think freely received, freely give applies to sharing the gospel with someone, not people gathering for a promotional social business function. I think they need to charge more than they do though.

What's the big deal about charging for GC? They charge for Youth Conventions, Youth Camps, Marriage Retreats, Men/Women's Conference. In recents years GC has been known more for its "business" meetings than "church" meetings...

My family and I went to one of the GC services and one of Joel Osteen's meetings. My father in law and Acts 2:38 Bible thumper said there was more of God's presence in the JO meeting than at the GC. If GC's are like 2006 GC, it won't be worth $25.... btw Joel Osteen's Cleveland tour stop costs $10 per ticket... That paid for the rent of the building.

I'd suggest charging $25 for the business meeting and keep the services free...
