This is a good post and brings to mind the tight skirts also.
Final conclusion: Are you trying to attract male attention and act like a *****?
So, the issue is modesty and must be taught.
Why shouldn't a young lady try to attract the attention of a young man?? Are we stupid or something?

My wife was once pointed to and and accused of having the spirit of a whore (direct quote) because there was a split in her skirt. It was well below the knee, btw.
This from a pulpit.
That was a little tough to swallow.
But we didn't go charismatic over it.
I might not have gone charismatic, but I might have gone abutt whupping.

She's posted it before and it went to oblivion rather quickly. I think she makes great points.
I must have missed it before.
It seems that many refuse to teach the truth concerning this particular scripture. I find that odd.

good post press, i have been in the church almost 40 years and have heard thousands of messages, and that is the most ignorant , hateful thing i have ever heard, dt sad for the world,
We used to be told that it was the spirit of a harlot to wear denim and I have had relatives and friends that I invited to church who wore pants harangued from the pulpit. ........One relative had traveled thousands of miles (from Alaska) and all she heard from the preacher to the "saints" who testified was how horrible pants were. It was very obvious that she was singled out and the stares she got were horrible. Needless to say, I went home and cried and cried. She told my mother, "I will never go back to that church again"....Sometimes I wonder how much blood will be on people's hands who did not use wisdom. It's not all about Acts 2:38 and a dress code. It's about love and wisdom and doing the will of Jesus Christ, too.
And, the aspect of the deeper meaning of homosexuality is not wrong. But let us not throw out the surface view for the deeper application, as they both fit. That is, there has been a natural decorum through the years between men and women--and the line was not always pants. That has been the western civilization line. We ought not dress like the opposite gender because of the strangeness, that is homosexual look, that it brings. The reason that moderate and conservative Apostolics still exclude pants on women is in deference to a "better" line of distinction between the genders AND because of the modesty issue. Certainly, not every pair of pants is immodest on the woman, and some of them have an obvious feminine look--but in general, the line has worked well, and when crossing it has been allowed, we eventually see in the wardrobe items that are NOT modest and are NOT obviously feminine. The line has worked, and will continue to work--and we do well not to move it.
The problem I've personally seen is that a clothesline is so preached about that modesty...well, there isn't room for that kind of preaching.
So I see immodestly dressed women in skirts and dresses, but they are given a pass because they are following the clothesline.
And understand that when men first wore pants, they were considered immodest, and in some areas, unmanly, because they were considered women's attire.

I've gone and done it now! I'm on Facebook!!!
It's really quite straight forward really when you read the scripture. It just can't and isn't talking about what it's been made out to be and a very quick study nails that down really.
We've had some good discussions in the past (I remember one on GNC) and another on FCF where the scripture was scrutinized carefully and then held up to examination in light of what the rest of the Word has to say.
I still prefer dresses and skirts for women and I think that because of the fact that pants have been mens apparel for many years now and men don't wear pants in our culture dresses and skirts do provide clear distinction between male and female. There's no doubt that dresses and skirts are distinctly "feminine". Normal men in our culture wouldn't be caught wearing them.
