Thanks, Ferd, for seeing it and summarizing it succinctly.

By the way, my posts weren't singling out CC1 or Newman at all. More the contrary, as I have respect for both as individuals and posters (they're the nicest wrong-headed people I know )

I really took issue with a couple of one-liner cavalier dismissals by some I've never interacted with...as well as a memory of nfcf in its less than finer moments.

When did you want to have that debate on your Theology vs Oneness? I am sure I can find someone suitable

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Who is John Kershaw? Where does he Pastor, and is he in fact a member of the UPC? If so why does he remain a member with these standards?

He was on the Texas Board not sure if he still is, when I sang at his church.
His church is in the Dallas area.

You may not realize this but many UPC churches have their own set of standards. The Pastor makes the guidelines and they follow.
It all can't be heaven or hell, they are all so inconsistant.

When I went to Manguns church, when there was a ski trip we all wore ski suits. Now thats PANTS!
We kept warm, thanks God AM has sense!

TF Tenney is a good man. Sensible...I heard pastors tell me that when they first were asked to sign the ministerial agreement that told them to not watch tv, etc that he told them to sign the card, keep living their lives, and reach people with the Gospel of Christ. Now, I admit I heard this second hand - but it seems like he has his priorities as a leader right, even if he is more conservative than some. he would rather maintain fellowship than judge someone for having a tv, or not ascribing to his personal beliefs.

Just my opinion.

What one considers "holy" may not be holy to another...Who are we to judge another man´s servant? (bible) I refrain from saying who is or who is not. I live what I feel that is best and teach my ladies but I never judge looking on the outside...the RELIGIOUS of long ago wore long flowing robes but inside they were so evil...Sadly and with tears I am posting my Master´s own words.
