Well, I will defend him on the oops moment as he had just come out of an experimental back surgery and was on pain medication. I also happened to be in Bastrop the day the big fire started. We met up with some people at Southside Market for lunch when the wind gusts shut down the lights. After leaving we noticed the smoke and I turned to my husband and said, "That's going to cause a major problem." I had no idea the extent it would actually cause.

So, I defend Gov. Perry for that gaffe. The other part was more laughable as he wanted to end the Department he is now being assigned to. He is the longest running Governor which means the majority of Texans wanted him to govern our state. This "thinking" Texan voted for him every election. He is a really likeable person.

I am much more concerned that he is trying to find some legal avenue to put his son-in-law and liberal daughter into his Administration. His son-in-law in an email concerning Bridgegate, wrote that it was a "bada**" thing to do. That's a troubling view for a person of influence to have.

The best Trump can do is try to figure out a way to make them "special advisors." The Federal Anti-Nepotism law is pretty straightforward and its likely Trump would be sued by one or a dozen organizations if he tries to bypass it.

Yet, another lie that they wouldn't be involved. But, he is smart and if it is true when his first wife said he had a copy of Mein Kampf, he knows that people will allow and believe anything, as long as you promise them financial security.

I'm really starting to believe you are just a parody.

Mary Matalin. Great expression - sighing, eye rolls, etc.

Last interview with Van Jones, he said, "I can't believe you would say that to my face!"

Mary replied, "Did you want me to say it behind your back?"

I LOVE HER!!!

The Department of Energy said it won’t comply with a request from the Trump transition team to provide names of employees who worked on the Obama administration’s climate policy efforts.

“The Department of Energy received significant feedback from our workforce throughout the department, including the National Labs, following the release of the transition team’s questions. Some of the questions asked left many in our workforce unsettled,” Eben Burnham-Snyder, director of public affairs at the Energy Department said. “Our career workforce, including our contractors and employees at our labs, comprise the backbone of DOE and the important work our department does to benefit the American people. We are going to respect the professional and scientific integrity and independence of our employees at our labs and across our department.”

“We will be forthcoming with all publicly available information with the transition team,” he said. “We will not be providing any individual names to the transition team.”

Oh for heaven's sake, GROW UP! He lied his tail off during the primary about a myriad of issues and isn't holding to most of his campaign promises. If you trust him with your life, go for it. Don't expect that from all of us.

And, BTW, did you say you are a substitute teacher in our public schools? I'm afraid your answer is yes.

2. Perry's positions on energy are in line with conservative principles. These positions include, according to On The Issues:
  • Supporting the Keystone Pipeline.
  • Being skeptical of man-made climate change and opposing government policies like a carbon tax.
  • Unleashing areas to domestic energy exploration through lifting regulations.
  • Fighting the Environmental Protection Agency's regulations through legal means.

There are a couple of his positions on energy that aren't overly conservative, such as supporting tax incentives for electric vehicles and renewable energy, but overall his energy positions are conservative, and they have contributed mightily to Texas's energy boom.

3. Perry's record as governor of Texas was excellent overall. The Wall Street Journal editorial board is far from conservative, but they did highlight some of Perry's most notable accomplishments as governor of Texas, including:
  • Setting a limit on medical malpractice reform.
  • Workers compensation reform.
  • Tort reform.
  • Helping unleash the free market to establish Texas as one of the best states in the country in terms of job creation and business climate.
