Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
Real holiness.
Real "standards".
Would sleeve length, clean shaved-ness, and blue jeans at the gym help anyone's reputation caught up in this mess?
If I was in Orlando, I'd purposefully by a ticket to Wet N Wild-- the family friendly water park with HONEST people in bathing suits, relaxing and enjoying themselves, in a non-sexual environment.
Why?
Because there is nothing wrong with doing what I want with my own money and there is nothing wrong with going to a water park. Just because I see Dad-bellies, wet middle-aged twins, and younger people and stuff doesn't mean that I am not controlling myself, not controlling my mind, and choosing to sin.
I'd say most people DON'T sexualize these activities.
And just because a man withdraws money from his account, on multiple occasions, giving large amounts of money to someone, just under the legal limit...
Oneness Pentecostalism is a house of cards.

Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
So a preacher breaking the law again. Funny how my old pastor will be in La in January. I have read all the info on this case and he should be glad he pleads guilty. A 1 time mistake is 1 thing but this "Pastor" has had multiple "issues" and has crooks as companions. A companion of fools it does say. Needless to say if you read the reports you will understand there was dirty business being done. He will not get charged for all he has done his name though will be forever linked with dishonesty and his church is now looked upon as a cult.
I feel sad for the people in the congregation. we are to obey the laws weather you like it or not. BTW once you put "your" money in the bank it no longer is "yours". I have talked to bankers about this issue and it is a great law. You need 100k get a draft no problem.

It is a great law?
To be arrested and jailed for taking out your own money?

Your disgust and hatred for your ex pastor aside, this is NOT a great law. It's a stupid and intrusive law.
And what are you, communist? My money is my money, whether in a bank or not. I don't need a bank or uncle Sam telling me how I should handle it.

Re: Pastor Jerry Cox makes the news
Whether it is a good law or bad law it is the law and a minister of the gospel should be beyond reproach. He had no business assisting someone to evade the law or evading it himself.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
