You filter truth to suit your beliefs. I heard Andrew Urshan late in his life, he was inclusive in his beliefs, and he was anointed in his preaching. Much wisdom, his son had a job to do and he did it, in the best way he felt he could.

I have pointed out teachings by the Apostle Paul that contradicts your stance.
The great Apostle Paul makes it clear that when God fills someone with the Holy Ghost after they have believed the gospel of redemption through Christ's blood (water baptism is obviously a part of "believing" the gospel), that He is marking that person as his own. Paul is clearly saying that the baptism in the PROMISED Holy Spirit is a seal or sign that this person has been accepted by God, justified by faith.
And of course Paul is referring to the events of Acts chapter 19 when the first Ephesians were converted.
Brother Epley, in front of all these witnesses on this board who are reading this thread I ask you, do you agree with the Apostle Paul or not? Are those who have received the Holy Ghost God's people or not, even if they attend a church with what we'd consider to have less than perfect doctrine? Better yet, do you agree with God?
|
The saints any place in scripture did not attend a church preaching false doctrine. I do not believe in unconditional eternal security folks could be genuinely saved and become lost for not continuing in the doctrine. I am not speaking of understanding every mystery of the Kingdom but a church not preaching the necessity of the new birth( Acts 2:38) is a false church. These folks in Acts 19 who are the foundation of the Ephesian church were not Trinitarians. You have NO point.

13 And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.
14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. (Eph 1:13-14)

You did not answer the question. Furthermore, read Revelation chapters two and three. Six of the seven churches were FULL of false doctrine and error. Yet, God did not condemn all the converts in those churches because of the error of the leaders.
Furthermore, I received the Holy Ghost in a Trinitarian Pentecostal church in 1980 when I was just 15 years old. ACCORDING TO PAUL in Ephesians chapter one, God was marking me as his own by giving me the Holy Ghost. Do you agree with God or not?

There is nothing there about you, or Epley or anyone being over the church of God. There is only one church and Epley ain't the head, no matter how much he wishes to replace Jesus with Himself.
Col 1:18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
You have to realize, the "He" in the passage isn't you, your pastor, or Epley (as much as he wishes to be) or the guy down the street. Could you determine from this who the head of the body, the church, is?
Oh yeah. Haaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Your Romanist hissing will not convince many that you are the head of the church. There is one church and you ain't the head, little feller.

Can you believe Jesus is something other than God and be saved? Scripture for that? How about Genesis-Revelation? "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God." Jesus is the Living Word---and He's God! "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." The whole thing is about Him---if you don't believe the Word you can't be saved. I don't get the confusion.
Can you believe He's just a teacher, prophet, good man, important historical figure and be saved? He is both Lord and Christ!

When Trinitarian believers read 1 Tim. 3:16 they DONT know the meaning.
They think it means God the Son was manifest in the flesh. Or the eternal son of God was manifest in the flesh. The one very thing that Paul IS SAYING that it was GOD who was manifest in the flesh is the only thing they DO NOT SEE in that verse.
They cannot see that God, the one and only God of the Old Testament came in the flesh. If they had THAT REVELATION they would be Oneness rather than fighting against it.

Have you ever bothered to ask a trinitarian what I Tim 316 means to them or are you just offering your opinion on what you think they believe?
