It's disgusting ... if you ask me ... it's either blatant illiteracy or bearing false witness ... or both ....

First of all, Daniel believes baptism is a Christian rite akin to footwashing. If you get around to it, well hooray for you. He thinks you should obey it, but it is not a necessary action.

By saying and believing this, he denies the power of the name in baptism.

They deny the power of the name in baptism. They deny the fact that God's Spirit comes with signs following. They deny everything aside from repentance is essential to salvation.

And here is the kicker. They then go on to say that we are part of the same movement.

Hogwash.

For once, why not call it what it is? They have returned to a pre-twentieth century understanding of Oneness Pentecostalism, and true Apostolic power is absent from that understanding. They have rejected the basic tenants of the Apostolic faith. They have embraced the greater whoredom of Christendom in the name of ecumenicalism and tolerance.
I agree. Doesn't seem like the apostles doctrine at all to me...

More false witness.

Where along the way did Pete tell them what to do to be saved? Oh yeah in Acts 2:21.

Why do you ride this merry-go-round Daniel. You believe no such thing! If you did, you would have no problem with the classic UPC stance.

But we all know you do have a huge problem with it, don't we? It's because you don't believe the same thing. Why speak out of both sides of your mouth? If you don't believe the baptism by water or by Holy Ghost infilling (evidenced with tongues), that is your perogative. But why attack the very thing you say you agree with?

The reason is you don't agree with me. We are not of the same movement.

If I believe that it takes Jesus name Baptism, and the infilling of the holy ghost to make it, and then I go on TBN and lead sinners in a "sinners prayer", and then tell them they are saved, do I really believe what I used to??

I am sure I could think of others given the time. These were UPCI men (not sure if Phillips carried a license)
