The only real travesty during song service is when the performers start thinking they're putting on a mini-concert and just keep singing endlessly to hear their own voices. And, if possible, singers - please stop preaching sermonettes between song verses. Just sing your songs and let someone else cover the preaching. CanIGetAnAmen?

I once was in a service where the choir director instructed the choir to sing Lanny Wolf's "He's More Than Wonderful" for 20 minutes. I thought the song would never end. Chorus after chorus...I nearly fell asleep...
