They conspicuously left out Leviticus 19:27, "Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard."
Since the passage says we're not to "mar the corners" or our beards, it is assumed that we have beards.
Here's an interesting article on the subject: http://www.bryanstation.com/the_beard.htm
My posting of that link does not mean I agree with everything the guy is saying.

It's amazing how quoting scripture will sometimes stop the mouths (or keyboards) of people who are trying to defend their unbiblical man-made traditions.

Okay you guys have me converted....Paul was a latecomer dogmatic legalistic blind leader who didn't really understand the love of God.
I think I'll dig a little more into the Nicolaitans...Maybe they had something there...
Besides I care too much anyway. I kept shaving in the begginnig of my conversion because I wanted the people to see the glory of God on my contenance and not the world. and since I can ignore any uncomfortable dogma I'll forget Peter and Paul and all those standards that made sense to me when I was tender and pliable and start letting my flesh be my guide....makes sense to me now with my enlightenment.
Yep..feel better already...no more cleaning around the church, (except cleaning out moneychangers and stopping anyone who brings a sacrifice)
No more fasting or preaching on sunday (It's too much work and it was given to me anyway) no more haircuts. or homes to maintain, (You know the foxes thing) Hey I can start riding donkey's and no more lincoln continentals (never have to worry about changing a tire again)
Start fishing for my money, (doesnt that sound good) Dear Bro. AB you really have already made my day)
Uh Oh, It also means I've got to pluck out my eyes, because of the semi-naked women I see all the time, Uhhh...no DVD or VCR or big screen..Uh..this ain't sounding so good any more....I've got to cut my hands off because I'm not always perfect in my taxes.....and my feet, because I stand and watch the gamblers and go into the arena where the idolotrous entertainers are exposing their bodies....
On second thought Dear Bro. AB I think I'll follow the lesson on grace and love that Paul preached...I mean the scripture does say that their in harmony with Christ.
Yeah...I'll try yeild my members instead of cut them off...and I'll have to be careful with the grace God gave me to not frustrate it or becomes an enemy of it but at least I'll be able to keep them.....Jesus preaches too hard anyway...
Besides, Jesus said the whole Law, not one jot or tittle to change until all things be fulfilled, (and Paul let's me eat bacon.....yeah)
So come back at me hard baby.....I'll stick with what got me here. I do confess, I don't like shaving and I still do it because I love Him and don't want the old worldly guy back in my face. But, to each his own...
God bless...

It's not God-given authority if what is being commanded is contrary to God's word. Are you one of those who would obey men rather than God? That is, in effect, what you're saying here. You would prefer to obey men just because they have taken authority upon themselves rather than doing what the Bereans did in Acts 17 (study the scriptures to see if what was being said was so).

My Esteemd Bro Chan; (not patroizing or sarcastic please, just acknowldgin a superior brain)
If you'll look into my origional post I did cover my feelings on the subject. Egypt and Syria both shaved in honor of their polythiestic worship. God, when drawing Israel from Egypt to a Land bordering Syria, set the standard contrary to their Idolotry.
Paul, our apostle, set the standards according to the gentile world.
God bless you....
