Just throwing this out there for arrows to be shot.....but, could some of the problem be what we've discussed the past couple of days around here?
That we (or any other denomination for equal time's sake) have become so good at "playing" church or "replacing Jesus" that we can be involved in sin and still play the role?
Absolutely. I was taught very well how to do this while growing up.
The implication was, it's ok to sin as long as it doesn't show on the outside.
And for those in ministry who are involved (this means more than just once) in sin, unless the media or law takes action, the UPC doesn't seem to care.
Perhaps they do, but it doesn't seem that way from situations I know personally about.

Be careful - you are about to be named among the UPC bashers - I already made the mistake of mentioning the UPC in my post and was called on it!
Thou knowest that I am trying to be good. I have heeded the wise instruction from my elder AFF leaders, and have tried to keep my comments kind. However, Lord, if thou dost not help me, I feel that soon I will have another big, fat, red infraction under my name.
Thou knowest how much I detest stupidity, and how difficult it is for me to tolerate, so I ask that you would help thee...er...me, in biting my tongue...or my fingers, whichever would work best.
Thanks.

I think the org cares very deeply. It affect us all negatively.
But there are procedures to follow. Things must be proven. Sometimes that can take a while.
