If it is only temporary (why) is it promised to those who overcome?

The( WHY) of it is because Spirits don't SOUL-SLEEP...
The reason it's temporary is because the Bible says it is.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH:for the FIRST HEAVEN and the FIRST EARTH were PASSED AWAY;and there was no more sea.

Now if you want to argue this...you will have to do so with the Lord , for he said it.

Don't go messing with scripture in this book...

Revelation22:18 For I testify unto every man that hearth the words of the prophecy of this book,If any man shall add unto these things,God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,God shall take away his part out of the book of life,and out of the Holy city,and from the things which are written in this book.

There's your proof on Paradise being temporary.

Why was he concerned that man would eat from this tree and then LIVE FOREVER?

Is it the same old answer that he was only speaking about his BODY?

Did Elohim think that BODIES of themselves would live forever?

Or can we see the truth he spoke of MAN as a being or person?

This should prove the error of immortal soul of itself.

After all if Elohim had given man an immortal soul he would already live forever.

Remember that when God made man and placed him in the Garden?
Well there was Man,Tree of Good and Evil and Tree of Knowledge.
Man was not made by the Lord to ever die.

Genesis 2:16 AND THE Lord God commanded the man saying,Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
(THIS INCLUDES THE TREE OF LIFE)

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the tree of knowledge of good and evil ,thou shalt not eat of it;for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
(WELL WE ALL KNOW ADAM AND EVE ATE FROM THIS TREE OF GOOD AND EVIL)

The reason God was concerned that they would eat of the tree of life is because they ate from the tree of Knowledge.Since the consequences for eating from the tree of knowledge was death,he very well couldn't let them eat of the tree of life and live forever in sin.

I hope this has opened up the eyes of people's hearts to spiritually discern the teaching of soul-sleep.Believing in soul-sleep or the separation of Body and Spirit at death will not effect your salvation in Christ our Lord.

Michael I don't claim to understand all the scripture in God's word,so I keep reading and studying to bring about knowledge in the word.Knowledge is one of the gifts from the Holy Spirit.However knowledge in the word without wisdom in the word is useless.
As Christians we should all strive to read and understand God's word.Before one can achieve any knowledge in the word, they should pick up the word of God and read it.There will be no understanding scriptures if one don't read the word.
This discussion with you on soul-sleep has reached it's end.You don't have a sword that you know how to use and this is not fair on your part.Go read and study God's word,Go learn of him and his ways and his words.You will be amazed at how the Holy spirit(if you are born again)will open up his word to you with more understanding.Learning Bible with out the Holy Spirit is impossible with a carnal mind.

I agree you have posted a lot more scripture then I have.

You can't discern the word of God,you have no understanding of scripture.It would not be fair of me to continue to discredit your knowledge in the word of God.In other words I don't want to continue making you look like your lacking in understanding of the Bible,OK!Believe in soul-sleep,your going to, until you get some wisdom thrown in with the knowledge that you need to be brushing up on in the word of God.

But really it DOES speak rather loudly for a teachings validity when it carries a heavier weight of scripture. And in this case there is no question that the Bible teachers gave us the resurrection of the dead as our hope.
