Someone running you off the road could be attempted murder, but of course, you have more lattitude that you give to those kinds of drivers.

guy pulls out. other guy ends up in the ditch. Now lets say this is the end of the story.

even if the idiot that caused the accident didnt see the person, they still thru their own negligence caused someone to end up in the ditch.

idiot did an idiot thing and that happens far far far too often. This guy gets a pass because he ran the wrong person off the road.

Lets procecute the second guy for the shooting. But lets not act like numskull number one is an innocent who is guilt free and got shot while minding his own business.

Fact?

Oh, am I reading too much into your post again? Maybe you mean the "fact" that there may have been two attempted murders. Again, that's certainly possibly, but I haven't seen any evidence pointing that way. Who's reading into things now?

Look, in my experience, in traffic: stuff happens! My guess is that of all the crashes or near crashes that happen every day, a tiny percentage of them were attempted murders. Super tiny. I have no idea why anyone would think this one seems to be one, against the odds, but whatever.

I don't recall anyone giving that guy a pass. I do recall someone saying he hopes the shooter is never caught. That sounds like a pass, to me.

I read page one then posted.....

havent read everything in between. i wouldnt say I hope the shooter is never caught but I will say the incident will likely cause the person who got shot to be a more careful driver!

...

and it may cause some other morons on the roadways to be a bit more careful too....

Man shot after he runs car off U.S. 78 near Olive Branch
Police search for assailant's tan Nissan Altima
By Christopher Conley (Contact), Memphis Commercial Appeal
Tuesday, December 2, 2008

A wild road rage encounter on U.S. 78 near Olive Branch late Monday morning escalated into a shooting that left a man wounded in the arm.

The victim, who was not identified, was being treated for a non-critical gunshot wound in his left forearm.

Meanwhile, Olive Branch Police Monday afternoon continued searching for a late model tan Nissan Altima, with its window shot out, seen speeding away after the shooting.

Just before noon, the victim's vehicle swerved and inadvertently ran the assailant's Nissan off the road in the westbound lanes of U.S. 78, near Bethel Road, according to Olive Branch Police Chief Art Heun.

After being forced onto the road shoulder, the Nissan re-entered the road, passed another westbound driver at high speed, then pulled up next to the victim's car,

The suspect fired a chrome handgun -- first through the window of his own vehicle, then through the victim's driver-side window -- striking the driver in the forearm.

The victim pulled into a rest stop to call for help, while the gunman's vehicle continued west.

A witness was able to recount the events for police, describing how the Nissan pulled up to the victim's vehicle just before the shot was fired.

after further reading, the shooter needs to go to jail for being stupid. They shot their own window out? LOL!

LOL - - you'd think he would have taken the time to roll the window down.
