I am not a pessimist, I am a faith preacher, but this must happen sometime, to someone, why do we think that we are any better than any other generation.

I agree. And with a Democratic president, Congress, Senate, a federal judiciary packed with liberal-leaning judges appointed by a Obama, and probably at least 2 liberal Supreme court justices picked by him, America will look very different when all is said and done. Not to mention that this country will step deeper into moral depravity with the rise of the godless secular progressive mindset and the advancement of the homosexual agenda in America.
I am convinced that spiritually dark days are ahead for this county. But it was bound to happen eventually anyway. So if it happens now, so be it.
Bottom line is, it's time for the church to shine. I believe God is raising up people in this hour who understand the times we're in, and who know what needs to be done in this hour. So, no worries.

Unfortunately, he's not joking. Many many liberals really think this.
Interestingly, even if Obama's administration stinks, if they can actually bring themselves to admit that Obama was a disappointment, they'll find way to blame the Bush administration anyway. You can take that to the bank.

He is drinking some very strong Kool-Aid. For some reason when I read his statement, I read it in "Drone-like" fashion. I can just hear him saying it with his eyes glazed over, drool dripping off his chin.........just drink the Kool-Aid, son.

Re: Prophetic Word about the Election
I think across much of America's electorate, wishful thinking has replaced critical thinking.
Barack Obama is proof of that.

Yeah that is what Hitler would say about his Generals when the Russians were in the suburbs of Berlin in WW2, that they have a defeatist attitude.

But they prove my point...the American church is nothing but a political action committee. It's not a real church. At least that's the popular trend right now.
I think it would do us a world of God if we preached against political involvement and taught complete abandon to the Kingdom of God and evangelism. But most idolize Rush Limbaugh to such a degree that they want their own following and bully pulpit. There was a time when preachers used the "n" word all the time and preached against integration. Today they preach against liberals and those who don't politically agree with them. The word "liberal" is the new "n" word. It's no longer proper to say hateful things about people of color....but you'll get a crowd cheering if you bash a brother who you label a...."liberal".

The above bolded is exactly what got us in the place we are today. It used to be that politics was a dirty word and the church didn't get involved. Some didn't even believe in voting.... By following such, we have allowed people to be in government and in power that have led us far from what this nation was founded on. If more Christians had been involved years ago, we could have fought smaller battles and won - now we are facing WAR in regards to certain things.
I have read several of your posts - and I am shocked at some of the things you have said....
- Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green Party - whatever...... as Christians we can disagree on social programs, fiscal programs, economic problems (cause etc) - BUT if we should all stand in agreement on GOD'S WORD! It is my personal opinion that if you support candidates that are against what God's Word says regarding moral issues (homosexuality, abortion, etc etc) - You WILL answer to God on judgment day! My Word - if you support someone who believes having a child out of wedlock is a "punishment" and that innocent life should be aborted to prevent that "punishment" - I don't believe you will be able to justify that to God.

I think what two people do in their private lives is their business. If they wish to enter into a social contract of marriage according to their faith tradition, that's their business. It's a private matter. Frankly, I don't even think the government should have a right to issue marriage licenses. It's a private matter. A private contract between to sovereign individuals and it's strictly their business.
Side note here....
I once heard a minister speaking about marriage. His personal belief was that he doesn't agree with or support any unbiblical marriages. Even those wherein the straight partners were divorced previously on unbiblical grounds. However, he believes that if two people are sleeping together they should be married and bound by legality regardless of gender or past marriages. He calls it a golden standard of marriage. So while he doesn't agree with homosexuality, he believes that if gays are going to live together and have sex, they should be legally responsible to one another. He accepts NO form of sexual conduct outside of a legally binding union.
I'm not sure if I support everything he thinks, but some of his points were provocative.

Are you would of your ever-lovin mind???? People wake up - this Prop is spiritual warfare!!!!! If Prop 8 is defeated it will be a definite attack on the church! Failure of this prop will lead to so many different things that you will regret and rue the day you supported any candidate who supported this prop!
Antipas - IF Obama wins (I'm like Pressing On - I'm not conceding!) and two or three years down the road - it will be interesting to read your thoughts regarding him at that time. I don't believe that he is the anti-Christ - but it is surely possible that he is the "John the Baptist" of the anti-Christ.... I know that prophecy has to be fulfilled - but as long as the rapture hasn't taken place and as long as we are still "occupying" until He comes, it is our responsibility to stand for righteousness!
