I am not falsely accusing anyone. It happened and nothing was done about it. You are very naive or just to blind to some of the things that happen in your org.
Does it make you feel better to resort to Childish name calling?

The signs were designed to get the attention of the general board which had previously refused to hear the complaint of a man whose pastor was a sex addict. This person finally saw the Bord and gave them the notarized letters from 11 women and a tape of this preachers conversation with women in his church that was recorded in the church.
The general board refused to take this mans license.
Just amazing. If this was Thad he would be roasted alive. And people are just believing these stories?

The incident I posted is common knowledge among the ministry. Because you know nothing about it means nothing. Whether you believe it or not doesn't change the facts.

Re: Swinging Church!
What I don't like about these threads is that it falls right into the agenda of those who hate the UPC and are looking for ways to paint it with a broad brush.
Some ultra cons believe the UPC is a "harlot" and other rubbish and try to act like gross sexual sin as talked about in this thread is common and pervasive.
I believe it is very much the exception that any UPC pastor is invovled in or condones sexual sin.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Oh, well, sorry to contribute to that--my clarification will help--my experience took place at an independent ultra-con church.

There's bad apples in every church and organization.

True, if it were a "charge." I merely offered this in support of Esthers concern. This type of thing does happen--and the church, whether UPC or others survives. It is tragic--but is not a death blow. That was my point. I did not offer the story as a "charge" to have the bishop removed ect. This forum is not a ministry trial.

Just because I offered a corallory story to Esthers should not open the door for the both of us to be called liars--because we cannot pubilcly name names and dates to a poster who I think is just being nosey and does not have truth as their cause.
I did not contend that it should not be reported to the Bishops superiors. Just not to this forum or any member thereof. And that it was not my responsibility to report--I was 2nd hand info.--it is my pastors decision to report it to the Bishops superiors.

I am a little confused as it seems like you are talking about two completely different things here, wife swapping and divorce. Do you honestly mean that their are two or more couples in a church that are SHARING their spouses???
That is pretty perverted if you ask me. Where is the pastor in this situation????

Re: Swinging Church!
OH! OH!!! I went and read the other posts on this thread! All of this talk to slam the UPC (and I am NOT UPC by the way) reminds me of the very first AMF meeting I went to years ago in the city of Shelbyville, Indiana.
This was back about 1990 I guess. I had never been to one of their meetings, was going out of curiosity. Walked into the morning Bible Study service (or what WOULD have been...have to tell you how THAT all blew up and never happened in another thread!!!)
BUT as I walked into the lobby of the church hosting it, I was greeted by a young man who was acting as usher. Instead of saying WELCOME to Apostolic Tabernacle, he grabs my hand to shake it and vehemently blurts out "What about that UPC HUH!? " And so like the good straight man for other peoples jokes that I AM I said.."What about them?" He borderline yells out (He was THAT worked up, only if you have been among these folks will you be able to 1.) understand and 2.) BELIEVE what I am saying...BUT after I said :What about them?" He yells out "THEY ALL BELIEVE IN DOUBLE MARRIAGE AND TAKE GRAPE JUICE FOR COMMUNION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Well I had heard about the Grape Juice / Wine thing before but NEVER had heard the term DOUBLE MARRIAGE. So to me, I immediately imagine all these UPC people NOW recast in the roll of Mormons with two and three wives! I started laughing at the thought, and thought surely he must be joking so said in my best jokey scornful way "ohhhhhh, NO they dont!" To which he most sincerely looks me dead in the eye and says "Ohhhhhh yes they DO! They ALL believe in double marriage and take grape juice for communion!"
It took me a few visits to them to figure out that by double marriage they mean people who's first marriage fell apart for what ever reason and went on to try and rebuild what was left of their lives.
Anyway... there never WAS a Bible study that morning, but THAT is a story for ANOTHER DAY!
