He does attend a UPC church and is very involved with it and all sorts of UPC activities.

The UPC doesn't forgive folks for youthful mistakes? Hmmm...I guess God's forgiveness and restoration isn't good enough?*

*I say this in all due respect not knowing or wanting to know the specific case, but in general because there are more folks I would imagine in the same situation.

The biggest drawback for me getting back into the organization would be .......... enforcing some of the standards that I feel are extra-biblical on the women. I had major issues with this when we lived overseas in another culture.

Standards for myself (meaning the UPC institutionalized ones) wouldn't be an issue at all. But having to enforce them on others? Yes.

He did not have the good fortune to be the son of a big name UPC preacher or official. This was before a few of them needed mercy and restoration and the UPC had a revelation regarding them.

C'mon Felicity,

Can't you just see yourself in one of those ladies meetings where you lay down the line and drill the women on being "holy"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

David prayed,
"Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD." Psalm 25:7

Remember the words of the UPC Manual

"To err is human,
to forgive is divine.
Neither is UPC policy."

I don't have a paper copy and I haven't read the online version so I don't know if it really does or doesn't.

And you bring your yardstick and place it vertically on the floor to measure the distance between the dress hem and the floor?

And you pinch the fabric around the posterior to make sure the dress is not too clingy and form fitting?

And you use your safety pins to close up any slits or open places where flesh may be showing through?

And you pull down some of the hair to make sure it hasn't been trimmed?

And you rub the face with a tissue to see if there is any makeup?

Etc. etc.
