Re: Do YOU really believe what you were taught?

The bible gives such a specific example of the two praying in the temple.... And yet 'the look' and the attitude still abounds.

Slowly the "west" has been conditioned to accept that lifestyle... not 50 years ago this was something society as a whole would get the "look" on.

So of course that "look" is changing in the world, but there are still some in the world as well as the church who can't control their expressions.. or maybe they DON'T control them...

Sexual sins are harder to stomach as a rule... and the thought of someone doing something of that nature can make someone feel sick in their stomach and often get the "look". I personally believe as Christians we need to move above that... we're not called to show contempt toward the sinner, but Grace should be the look on our faces. A haughty look and a proud heart will get you in trouble with God.

I do understand the tendancy to have your nose crinkle when you see something like two effeminate men or two woman in an embrace, but it's not something I advocate doing... and I tell people that who act that way around me to smarten up.

My favorite restaurant has a very gay waiter and he has never known anything but politeness and kindness from me.

Like I said, I understand the "look" but I hate the "look" and would preach against the "look" if I had opportunity. Nevertheless... the Pentecostal looking woman are not the only people in the world or in North American who get the "look"

Grace offers the ability to change... wow.

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

That change is of course scripturally correct. Today, many people want Grace to allow anything they want.

I can do it well... but I don't have a camera.. my husband comandeered it a couple days ago for work.

We should all post our versions of the "look"... might make for an entertaining thread.

I bet you some people on here could scare you with their "look".
My husband could do it... all he'd have to do is reenact the look the first and only time he tried to change a "dirty" diaper.

This is suprisingly true. I have an aquaintance who is attending a church every week faithfully, loves their church... speaks highly of the services.. yet is living with their boyfriend.

Maybe no one has told her she might want to consider getting married or moving out but she's not my sheep and I don't know her well enough to start in on her on her sins.

Maybe I should say something, but there's no way I will unless God gives me a vision in the night or something.
I hope the Lord doesn't hold me responsible.
