I read this entire thread so far and I have to say it's interesting from all sides.
I can't tell you the last time I attended a service in church. I work every weekend because of school and worked Wednesday evenings until the past couple of weeks. However, because I have clinical on Thursday, I have to do my prep work every Wed night, meaning that I have about 4 hours of work to do and still get enough rest to get up at 4am Thursday.
Not that it's necessarily an excuse. I don't work most Sun mornings, but like the thread starter said, why can some get up for work being all dead tired and such but can't get up for church? That's me. I've always been that way.

That's Awful. You don't have a pastor HO thus no watchman over your soul.
you are in more of a dangerous place then you realize. If you CAN go to church on Sunday morning and DON'T go shows you have lost the desire to serve God.
Anyone here remember the day when people would refuse a job that demanded them missing church on Sunday? Or possibly even during the week?
People used to do that at one time.
When my son started to work I told him "you must be off on Sundays and Wed. nights". Everyone Walmart will never hire him like that, guess what they did. Now he has a job in the drafting department of a large com. and works 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday.

That's great WH. Praise the Lord.

I'm watching over my own soul.
And your last statement isn't fair, Mark.

Missing church services isn't the only thing that puts people in a dangerous place. Stealing, gambling, gossip, backbiting, sowing discord, adultery, not reading their Bibles, and many other things put people in dangerous places. Just because a person goes to church every time the doors are open doesn't guarantee them a pass through those pearly gates.

Good point!
Regular church attendance shouldn't be based totally on desire or emotion. It really needs to be more a matter of commitment. You make up your mind to support your church and your pastor and what is going on in the church with your regular and "to be counted on" attendance.
If you base your attendance at church on "feeling", attendance could be quite sporadic. It's about doing the right thing for the right reason.
