I'm sorry - I didn't mean to make light of it either. (It's H1's fault! She's a bad influence.)
I've been watching the news today & have been praying for all of those in CA.

The areas that were on mandatory evacuations that would affected me (and Reformed Dave) have just been told they can return home...the fire is not an issue anymore. This was in big part to the wind changing and the fact they were able to start fighting from the air.

I would not be able to go to the stadium....you know, worldly entertainment and all. 
The clean-up you have to be careful with. Can't sweep it away because it would be unhealthy to breathe that in...messes up the respitory system.
I am very thankful right now, though.
I also found out work (school district) is closed for the remainder of the week. Good thing...Paid Time Off!!!!

You Southern California folks have been in my thoughts and prayers today. Dislocation, terrible smoke and ash in the air and the possibilty of losing your home is a real trial. God bless.

Do you know if the fires at all involve Ventura? I have a cousin who lives there.

The only news that we are getting here is San Diego. Prax would have more info on the Ventura fire.
