Well, hooray! Good thing for me, I don't really care what you think about the post. I stated my opinion based on my knowledge of a couple boards and the power trips of men on the boards. And since you clearly have no idea who I'm talking about (because I didn't and won't mention districts or names), you get the nomination for ignorant post of the day.

Let me ask you, does that call for repentance?
I'm not talking about the guy who has a fight with a presbyter.

Is this an actual case, or are we just talking about an extreme situation? I mean, we could think up all kinds of extreme circumstances where this kind of resolution may do some good. But those are very rare, and there's really already procedures in the manual to deal with it.

I think what is being missed by some is that this resolution doesn't change the manual as written with the execption of defining what is meant by "under question" and what is meant by "unbecoming behavior".
Other than those definitions, this rule has been in the manual for decades....

CR,
What are you hearing about Resolution 1 about teachers ... I think its more than just attempt to regulate teachers ... it has voting implications ... I've got a theory ... I'll share it later ... waiting on some info.

Nothing much about that one. I'd like to see someone give a definition of what's meant by "Teacher," and who falls under that category. By "Teacher" are we meaning unlicensed Sunday School, A.C.T.S., etc type teachers? Or just those licensed ministers who travel the country teaching?
I guess I don't know anyone who falls in this category. Haven't had anyone at our church that is simply a "Teacher."
It definitely has voting implications, which may not do much at the General Conference, but it could definitely tilt the board in some Districts.

As the resolution reads it implies licensed ministers ...
Think about the pastors who seek District positions or a favorable outcomes on local issues ...
If he can't qualify his voting bloc of local licensed ministers who attend his church as assistant pastors, or evangelists ... he could now say 8 of his boyz are teachers ... affiliate them as so w/ the District ... and build a mini-empire.

All resolutions are about licensed ministers....the manual is the rule book for those licensed...not the general public.
The only ambiguous notion that could include "saints" is the holiness standards in the Articles of Faith...but this type of resolution and incorporation in the "by-laws" section of the manual are most definately about those licensed.
